Windmont Park

Windmont Park, a 20-acre site on the city’s southwest side, is one of the most attractive settings of any park in the Midwest. A lagoon is surrounded by a large variety of trees and shrubs, and the eye is drawn to an iron footbridge that crosses the lagoon. There’s also a sidewalk that circles the water. A fountain donated to the park by a group of citizens adds a finishing touch to the scene. Recently installed at Windmont were an disabled accessible fishing pier, a new shelter, playground equipment and wider sidewalks for walkers enjoying the jaunt around the lagoon.

Tanner's Orchard

Central Illinois' most unique farm market. Wagon rides, playground, corn maze, farm animals, Apple Express train. Farm market filled with unique gifts, fresh produce and specialty foods such as jams, salsas, soups, etc. The large bakery provides an assortment of fresh baked goods and a great lunch on weekdays. Lunch served on weekends in September and October from The Old Market Eatery.

Country Corner Farm Market & Pumpkin Patch

Explore acres of pumpkins, a giant corn maze, farm-fresh produce, a petting zoo, craft barn, tree house and playground. Hayrack and pony rides, a carnival and concessions are also offered.

Johnson Sauk Trail State Park

1,365 acres of recreation opportunities the park's centerpiece is a 58-acre lake that offers both fishing and boating, as well as nearly two and a half miles of shoreline to explore.

Red Earth Cafe

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner while overlooking the 56-acre lake. Featuring Buffalo burgers, vegetarian choices, homemade pie and daily features. Dinner served Thursday through Saturday, 5 to 8 pm. Come visit us for all your camping needs at the Camper Store or rent a boat to enjoy fishing on the lake. Open March - November. Tuesday through Sunday, 8 am to 2 pm.

Francis Park

Francis Park home to "Woodland Palace" is easily accessible from I-74 and I-80. From I-74 take IL 78 exit north to Kewanee and from I-80 take IL 78 to Kewanee. Follow Highway 34 for four miles east of Kewanee to arrive at the park. A great place to tour and enjoy the outdoors. Perfect for your special occasion. 40 acres of woodlands to explore while camping at one of 60 RV sites with electricity or in the spacious tent area. Water, dump station, free firewood are available. Enjoy the playground equipment, ball diamond, horseshoe court and picnic area. Open and closed area shelters available for rental. Open May through September - no reservations available.

Jubilee College State Park is a 3,200-acre facility, located in Peoria County between Kickapoo and Brimfield, just off U.S. Route 150. This scenic area, with its rolling topography and meandering Jubilee Creek, offers various outdoor recreation.

Snakeden Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area

Features exceptional waterfowl hunting opportunities. The 112 water impoundments offer large-mouth and small-mouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, bullhead, rainbow and brown trout for fishing. Seasonal restrictions and limited access may apply.
