Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival
It is all about family fun on Route 66, the most famous road in America. Sponsored by the 13 communities which make up the 90-mile linear museum from Joliet to Towanda, the annual festival invites everyone to experience the good life in the slow lane. Towanda’s portion of the festival will feature antique and flea markets, a car show and more! While in Towanda, visitors won’t want to miss “A Geographical Journey” Parkway on Jackson Street to Boyd Wesley Park. This 1.6-mile stretch of Route 66 contains educational kiosks that interpret each state along the road. The walking tour has fliers printed in several languages for international tourists and a collection of Burma Shave signs.
