Warrenville Holly Days
Holly Days, sponsored by the Warrenville Park District is the City's annual holiday celebration that marks Santa's official entry into Warrenville. The Lyon farm and village is operated by the Kendall County Historical Society. For two Sundays in December, kids get to experience what an old time Christmas was like. Tables are set up with eight different holiday crafts. Gingerbread Firehouse Contest & Holiday Open House
See more than dozen gingerbread fire stations, and burning buildings, which have been specially crafted for this annual holiday event. All gingerbread entries must depict a firefighting themed architectural structure, real or imaginary and everything must be edible. The exhibit opens and will be judged on Saturday November 29. All gingerbread FIREhouses will remain on exhibit at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum though Christmas.

Old-fashioned games, trick-or-treating, a costume parade, hayrides and prizes will be available at the two Halloween parties at the Lyon Farm. Families with children of all ages are welcome. Takes place on Sunday, October 19 and Sunday, October 26.

Lemont Quarrymen Vintage Baseball
Lemont Quarrymen Vintage Baseball team will be playing home games this year at Covington Knolls Park at 127th and Covington Drive. Pack up the family and join the Qmen and the Historical Society (team sponsor) for an afternoon of good old fashioned fun enjoying the game of baseball as it was played before the Civil War. Home games are scheduled as follows: June 29, Sunday: Home Game vs. Milwaukee Grays; July 20, Sunday: Home Game vs. Munster Centennials. Game time is 1pm. Cruise Night in Morris
Years ago, there was a tradition in Morris called "Buzzing the Gut", a simple way of saying cruising Liberty Street. Morris is bringing that tradition back to downtown. Any Classic car owners are invited to participate. For a minimal registration fee of $10.00, car owners can display their cars on Liberty Street starting at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Entry closes at 8:00 p.m. No rain dates. The public is invited to walk around and enjoy these classic cars at no cost! Proceeds go to Grundy Community Hospice. Second Saturdays through October 11.
Robbins Back-To-School Festival
Robbins Back to School Festival has been a tradition for over twenty years. The Back to School Festival is scheduled the weekend before Labor Day annually and ends with the Labor Day Parade on the Sunday. The Robbins Labor Day Parade is the second largest African American parades in the Chicago Southland area after the Bud Bliken Parade. For the 2014 Robbins Back to School Festival we will provide a small carnival and 3-day basketball tournament in addition to live entertainment, food, and fun.

This free exhibit, Loyal Hearts, features quilts and objects from the era that reveal the stories of women's work and struggles on the home front during the Civil War.
