Here, There, and Every-where: Science Through Analogy, Near and Far
Marshall Public Library will be hosting this NASA traveling display that consists of a series of large image-based panels and supporting hands-on activities that connect Earth and planetary sciences and astrophysics with everyday phenomena. Images displayed in the exhibit include the topics of shadows, wind, colliding atoms, lensing, electrical dis-charge and bow waves. The images are aimed at helping to demonstrate the universality of physical laws to people who may not identify strongly with science. Exhibition hours are hours are 10-6 Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; 10-8 on Thursday; and 10-5 on Friday and Saturday.
Christmas in Paris
Come to Paris, Illinois, on December 7th for an entire day of activities that will provide fun for the entire family. The Mistletoe Marketplace will be open from 10 am to 3 pm at 118 E. Court Street featuring 20 plus local vendors available to aid in all your holiday shopping needs. At 2 p.m., head to the Paris Theater, located at 119 N Central, for a free showing of "A Christmas Story." From 4 pm to 7 pm, the downtown area will be a host to many different free activities. Most storefronts will be open, serving as home to either a free activity or a special shopping experience. Activities that night include a magic show, story time with Mrs. Claus, a visit with Santa, cookie decorating, several children's crafts, a silly photo booth, marshmallow roasting, reindeer games on the courthouse lawn, live entertainment and much, much more.
