Country Corner Giant Pumpkin Festival
Jack O’Lantern meets Jack and the Beanstalk! Like Jack’s plant, a pumpkin can grow, and grow, and GROW – until it becomes one of the stars of the annual Giant Pumpkin Festival! See pumpkins weighing over 500 pounds. Most are for sale, so–give yourself the ultimate challenge and wrestle a giant out in our 20-acre pumpkin patch–or just point at one that’s been pre-picked at the farmstand. We’ll help with the wrestling, weighing and toting. Fall fun park, hayrack rides, corn cannons, our famous “Cow Train” barrel train, “Mining for Gems” ,bounce house, and Kids’ Corn Maze. Eagle Watching in Alton

Witness the "Masters of the Sky" birds of prey demonstration. Come see eagles, falcons, owls and other birds of prey at this educational and informational program. Annawan Fun Days
It’s all about the kids! Festivities are held at Howe’s Park and feature kid friendly activities like an obstacle course, pedal tractor pull, water fights, and the Twinkie train! Evenings offer a movie, food, nightly entertainment, and fireworks – first of the season in Henry County! After the Sunday parade, have a slice of pie or buy one to take home from the annual auction.
55th Annual Chain O' Lakes Fishing Derby and Winter Festival
Bring the family and friends out to the Thirsty Turtle Beach in Antioch to enjoy the good old-fashioned winter fun. There will be raffles and games for the children and adults both days. Weather permitting. This year fish judging and food will be inside the tent. Come watch the fishermen register their catch of the hour hoping to win a prize for the smallest or the largest fish. When you get hungry there's plenty of good food at the Conservation Café. Don't forget the children's auction held on Sunday at 3:00pm. The adult auction is next followed by the main raffle. There will also be an Ice Shanty Contest.

The oldest footrace in Southern IL. is held the 2nd Saturday in November each year on the Mississippi River levee in Cairo. A long sleeve t-shirt is given to each participant in the 5,000 & 10,000 meter run and awards will be presented to the winners.
Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days
The 26th Annual Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days will be held at John A Logan College. It is the largest celebration of Hunting and Fishing Day in the country. This 200+ vendor show offers something for the whole family. Bass Fishing and Crappie seminars, catfish contest, Goose calling contests, Dock Dogs competitions, retriever demonstrations and a kids fishing hole are just a few of the activities throughout the weekend.
Cave-In-Rock Frontier Day
Cave-In-Rock Frontier Festival is held on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River. The festival, which commemorates the extensive and colorful history connected to Cave-In-Rock and the surrounding community, is an entertaining and fun filled community event. First held in the 1960’s, the celebration includes a parade, carnival, various entertainment held in the Old Opry House, food and craft vendors. A Little Miss and Mister Frontier Days and Frontier Queen pageant is a highlight as well as various other activities. Come join the festivities for a weekend of fun and entertainment.

Magnificent Mile Lights Festival
Kick off the holiday season and create your special memories on The Magnificent Mile in 2014! The BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, the nation’s largest evening holiday celebration, jump starts the holiday season on Saturday, November 22 with a full day of family friendly activities, concerts by top musical artists and the best holiday shopping.
