Belvidere Holiday Walk
Travel back in time for a glimpse of holidays in seasons past. Luminaries will light the way to our log cabins where pioneer families will be celebrating. They might even be serving holiday goodies! Stop by and share your holiday wishes with a Civil War era Santa. Enjoy freshly popped corn along the way and come inside the Nature Center to listen to the sound of music. Held on the Festival Grounds in Spencer Conservation Area.
Celebrate the Christmas season with a parade, horse-drawn carriage rides, food, crafts, music, storytellers, a petting zoo, and children's activities at the Apollo Theater and Fire House on State Street. Seasonal vendors and a Christmas tree display are featured at the Community Building Complex.
Luminary Night On Stephenson and Lincoln Streets
Enjoy the beauty of the soft light of luminaries and the architecture of these historic homes as you stroll this lovely residential neighborhood. Also, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Stephenson Street and Lincoln Boulevard from West Street to Park Boulevard.
Aquin Flea Market
The Aquin Flea Market has been the treasure hunters' favorite for many years. This large indoor flea market is filled with antiques, collectibles, crafts, and books. Open the first Sunday of the month January thru May, and October thru December. The dates for fall of 2013 are Nov 3, Dec 1, 2014 dates are Jan 5, Feb 2, March 2, April 6 and May 4.

It's 1934, and the world's greatest tenor, Tito Merelli, has come to Cleveland, Ohio, to save its Grand Opera Company by singing Otello. When he is unexpectedly incapacitated, Max, the Opera Director's meek assistant, is given the daunting task of finding a last-minute replacement. Chaos ensues - including a scheming soprano, a tenor-struck ingenue, a jealous wife and the Cleveland Police department. May 9,10 and 15-17. 7:30 pm. $15.

Build It! Make It! - Discovery Center Museum
Creativity will flow in the Build It! Make It! exhibit. Visitors will design, create and construct whatever they can imagine as we fill the 5,000 square feet of the Woodward Exhibit Hall with all kinds of building items. The hall will transform into a creative space to play with ideas, explore materials and tinker with tools! Legos, K'Nex, and our Imagination Playground giant foam blocks are just the beginning of the imaginative construction zone. Additional Tinkering and Make It areas provide opportunities for children to explore and invent using real materials and real tools.
The Nutcracker Ballet
Delight in the magic of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, as Clara takes an enchanted journey filled with the beloved melodies and dance that have captivated audiences for more than a century. This year's performance will feature Rockford native and Rockford Dance Company Alumni April Day who now dances with the Joffery Ballet in Chicago. Combined with the RSO and the local talent of the Rockford Dance Company, this holiday tradition is enjoyable for the whole family.
Rockford Art Museum Exhibit - Through the Ages: 100 Years of RAM
From its beginnings as the Rockford Sketch Club in 1887, to official organization as the Rockford Art Association in 1913, RAM boasts a rich history that reflects the past, present and future of the Rockford region. On view for an unprecedented length of time throughout all three galleries of the museum, Through the Ages celebrates the centennial of Rockford Art Museum with paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, glass, sculpture and mixed media from the RAM Permanent Collection. Also on view in this commemorative exhibition are rare displays of historic archives that tell the impressive story about the making and sustaining of this community gem.

The 29th annual Rockton Christmas Walk events include the Lighting of the Park with luminaries surrounding the Village Green Park, a lighted parade, Christmas carolers, elves and a snowman wandering through town, Candy Cane Craft Show, and horse and carriage rides around the village.Many organizations will provide events of their own which include a breakfast, craft show, musical concert, hot cocoa, and Christmas time sales at their business.
