Deerfield's Farmers Market
Savor the Flavor of the Seasons' Bounty at the Deerfield Farmer's Market. Look for the bright orange carrot. Locally grown seasonal vegetables and fruit, organic and naturally grown vegetables and flowers, fresh-cut flowers, potted flowering plants, annuals and perennials, freshly baked breads, muffins and cookies, hand-crafted Wisconsin cheese, tasty maple syrup and honey, and other specialty products and much more! This market is held in downtown Deerfield at the Metra Commuter Parking Lot, located at 850 Waukegan Rd. (Deerfield and Robert York Ave).
Wonderland Express at Chicago Botanic Garden
Take a magical trip to a winter wonderland of twinkling lights and holiday beauty at the Chicago Botanic Garden when we kick off the holiday season! Outside, 750,000 lights sparkle and welcome you and your family to the Garden's wonderland. Inside the Regenstein Center, a 10,000-square-foot exhibition of miniature trains winds over bridges, under trestles, past waterfalls, and through more than 80 mini-replicas of Chicago's favorite landmarks. Paul Busse, designer of the Model Railroad Garden, created this amazing exhibition exclusively for the Garden's holiday celebration.
Chicago Botanic Garden- Weekend Family Classes
Together, adults and children can explore cool things about how plants connect to science, art, history, and culture. Each program includes a variety of hands-on activities and projects, as well as opportunities to bring the Garden home. Programs run from November through April on Saturdays.
Model Railroad Garden: Landmarks of America
The 7,500-square-foot “Model Railroad Garden: Landmarks of America” exhibition at the Chicago Botanic Garden features trains running on 1,600 feet of track, for train and garden enthusiasts to enjoy the delightful sights and sounds of the miniature trains traversing high and low through tunnels, across bridges and around buildings.
Butterflies & Blooms Exhibit
Butterflies & Blooms is a butterfly exhibition where visitors can immerse themselves in a habitat filled with hundreds of live butterflies. This exhibition is filled with species native to South America, Asia, North America, and Africa, as well as those native to Illinois. The 2,800-square-foot white mesh enclosure is located on the lawn of the Learning Campus. Weather permitting.
Glencoe Festival of Art
Free and open to the public, the Glencoe Festival of Art will showcase the work of more than 110-juried artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and wood. In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Kids also have the opportunity to participate in art scavenger hunts throughout the weekend. Location: Vernon Ave. & Park Ave.

Joshua Bell & Chris Botti With the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia
Tonight's program features lifelong friends sharing the stage with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Botti made his Carnegie Hall debut in 1981 as part of the All American High School Jazz Band; Bell debuted there three years later as a soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony. Botti won a Grammy in 2013 for his album, Impressions. Come out for an evening of terrific tunes and virtuosic delights.
