Each August, hundreds of thousands of people come to Central Illinois to experience all the entertainment and excitement that the Decatur Celebration has to offer. Headliners cap off a weekend full of family fun with unique food vendors, 3 blocks of arts and crafts, a carnival, and something exciting around every corner. Haunted Decatur Ghost Tour
Travel throughout the city of Decatur in search of history, hauntings, crime scenes, scandals and spirits! Join us for a journey back into the history of one of America's most haunted towns and discover not only our favorite haunted places, but new locations of crime, infamy and spirits that have never been featured on the tours before. Popular with ghost buffs and history enthusiasts alike and includes new and favorite haunted locations! Lasts approximately 3-4 hours. $30 per person.
Central Illinois Jazz Festival
Put on by Decatur’s Juvae Jazz Society, this annual celebration of all types of jazz is held at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel. Hundreds of folks come from all around the Midwest to spend the weekend partying, dancing, parading and listening to great jazz musicians with their friends. Book early as the festival fills up fast! The three day, multiple venue festival features world class musicians under one roof. Includes lots of events such as New Orleans style Umbrella Parade, Pianorama, Banjorama, Late Night Jam Session, and Sunday Jazz Brunch. Bands plus special guest performers from East and West Coast and points in between play your favorite music style - Chicago, New Orleans, Swing, Ragtime and Boogie Woogie Piano.
Progress City Cluster of Dog Shows
The Progress City Cluster is a combination of dog shows hosted by the Champaign Illinois Kennel Club, the Mattoon Kennel Club, and the Sandemac Kennel Club. Spectators are welcome to watch all shows for a small fee.

Pride of the Prairie Marble Show
The Pride of the Prairie Marble Show takes place twice a year in the winter and fall. Free and open to the public all three days, you can experience buying, selling, and trading among some of the nation's greatest marble collectors. Have marbles of your own? Feel free to bring some along for free identifications and appraisals!
The Midstate Cup Soccer Tournament
Sponsored by MidState Soccer Club and Decatur Park District, this major Central Illinois youth soccer event will bring in over 7000 fans from across the country. Money raised from the event benefits the MidState Soccer Club premier youth soccer program and complex in Decatur, IL. Over 130 teams with boys and girls ranging in age from 7-18 will be competing for the MidState Cup trophies. Come on out and help support this great program and root on the boys and girls!
Findlay Walleye Festival
This yearly festival has plenty of entertainment, food and fun. The Walleye is a feature for the festival with the fish being served daily. There will be plenty of entertainment (bands), an ice cream social, fireworks on Friday (which will be moved to Saturday if there is rain), kids games, a farmer's market, tractor pull, car, truck, & motorcycle show, a 5K event and plenty more. A large parade starts at 10am on Saturday and there will be plenty of kids activities and games both days.
The Decatur-Forsyth Classic, held at the Hickory Point Golf Course, is the longest running tournament on the LPGA Symetra Tour and the third longest running women’s golf tournament on the LPGA. This year, the tournament at Hickory Point Golf Club will showcase a three day, 54 – hole stroke play professional tournament featuring a purse of $130,000.
From Vine to Wine
This fun and educational weekend offers a comprehensive overview of the wine-making process, along with plenty of opportunities for wine-tasting! “From Vine to Wine” will bring those interested in beginning or expanding their personal wine knowledge, guest vintners, and University educators to breathtaking Allerton Park & Retreat Center for a unique wining and dining experience. Seminars will cover grape production, turning grapes into wine, and a wine tasting course. Evening dinners will include specially prepared meals and wine pairings selected by the guest vintners.
Moweaqua Pow Wow Days
Come and enjoy this family-friendly festival with plenty of food, entertainment, and vendors everyday with a parade on Saturday. All of the events at the festival are located in the downtown park.
Shelby County 4H & Jr. Fair
One of only a few fairs that still highlight their 4H and Juniors. The fair includes dog care and obedience, judging in livestock, poultry, rabbits, lambs, produce, flowers, plants, and many other subjects. The Food Shack serves plenty of great food each day of the fair manned by the various 4H Clubs in Shelby County. The fair wraps up with the popular livestock auction and team penning.
Shelbyville Festival of Lights
Come to Shelbyville and take a drive through Forest Park as it is lit up for the Holiday season. These lights are put in place each year by volunteers and new lights and themed areas are also added. Candy Cane lane is to honor loved ones. The Historical Chautauqua Building becomes a huge carousel. Come enjoy the Victorian Village, Santa's Shop, the North Pole, Bethlehem, and others.
13th Annual Spores N More Mushroom Festival
Come and enjoy the thrill of the hunt for the elusive morel mushroom or come and bid at the auction. Friday night kicks off the event with a welcome dinner, reception and speaker in Windsor. Saturday morning, come and join the hunt for a fee. If you like morels but not the hunt, come to the auction and bid for your winning batch. The 2016 hunt and auction will be based out of Shelbyville's Forest Park.
Scarecrow Daze Festival
During the Annual Scarecrow Daze Festival, the entire city of Shelbyville is decorated with scarecrows. With a different theme every year, entrants decorate their homes and businesses to the theme. There is also a large parade on Saturday, kids' games, a beer tent, music, a quilt show, and plenty of food and crafts, in downtown Shelbyville.
Chautauqua Days Celebration
Days of old come together for this festival brought back after many years. This festival showcases the historical Chautauqua auditorium, the centerpiece of Forest Park. There will be live entertainment from the Ozarks, local musicians, craft vendors, food, and more.
Haunted Dacey Trail
Come to the Dacey Trail in Forest Park to enjoy a spooky evening. The first hour of the event will be kid friendly. This is a one mile loop that you will walk along as spooks and ghosts haunt your every move. Event will be 5-8 pm October 21-22 and October 28-29, 2016.
Beanstalk! The Musical
Jack and the Beanstalk is exactly like nothing you've ever seen before, not even in a book! This fun family show follows the adventures of Jack, a young boy with his nose in a book of fairytales. Filled with hilarious characters, toe-tapping tunes and more twists than a climbing vine Beanstalk! The Musical is one show that is guaranteed to grow and grow and grow right into your heart.
Windsor Harvest Picnic
Come and enjoy this family-friendly festival in its 118th year. Entertainment comes to you in gospel, country and rock. Fountain City Amusements provides a carnival atmosphere with plenty of food as well as the Ice Cream Social. There is also a 5K run/walk, a pedal tractor pull, parade, and a raffle drawing. This year for one show only is Country Legend Marty Stuart.
