Atlanta Fall Festival

Clayville Historic Site
The centerpiece of Clayville is the Broadwell Inn, the oldest brick building in Sangamon County, built in 1824 by the Broadwell family as a stage coach stop between Springfield and Beardstown. The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is surrounded by numerous other historic buildings from Central Illinois moved to Clayville in the 1960s to recreate an early frontier pioneer village. Come see a unique piece of Illinois history.

Undying Words 1858-1865
A powerful look at Lincoln’s greatest words and how they helped end slavery in America. “Undying Words” explores the most important speeches of Lincoln’s career, showing how his views on slavery evolved as he sought to hold the country together. One hundred fifty years after the Civil War ended and Lincoln died, this exhibit shows what was at stake for the slaves, soldiers and families caught up in the crisis Lincoln devoted himself to ending.
Maple Syrup Time
For 4 weekends in February and early March, you're invited to walk with us into the Garden's sugar bush as we tap our maples. Help us collect the sap as it flows from the trees and cook it down to pure maple syrup. A great way to shake the winter blues!
Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon
Run where Lincoln walked. The Midwest's premier half marathon takes participants past Springfield's major Lincoln sites, including his home and tomb. Registration information is available online.
Old Capitol Art Fair
Held in historic downtown Springfield, IL, surrounding the Old State Capitol. This Fair has 150 juried artists in a range of mediums, including oil/acrylic, ceramics, photography, jewelry, mixed media, metal, wood, drawing, fibers, glass, sculpture, watercolor, and printmaking. A children's tent for ages 2-15 will be open selling authentic artwork at small prices - a great way for your child to begin a love of art! There will also be a variety of food vendors and musical acts for entertainment.
