Riverfest Taste of Ottawa
Let's rock on the river! LaSalle County’s largest festival, Ottawa’s Annual Riverfest, celebrates summer with a bang! Carnival rides, art shows, craft and flea markets, kids activities, sidewalk sales, music and the now famous Taste of Ottawa all come together at the fest. Starved Rock Country Marathon
Inaugural marathon and half marathon in central Illinois. Be one of the first people to run through and around Starved Rock Country. The course will encompass the scenery of the Illinois River and the rolling landscapes in and around Starved Rock State Park. Runners will experience a course that is not a flat fast course as other courses advertise, the course has characteristics that will inspire you with scenic beauty and experience the highs and lows of the hills created by the Illinois River thousands of years ago. Presented by Starved Rock Country Community Foundation.
Ottawa 2 Rivers Wine Festival
Wine, food, lobster and the sweet sounds of jazz…all at the Ottawa 2 Rivers Wine Fest. Join us for great food, fun and remember, the music is always free! And don’t forget over 100+ great wines to sample from the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association. All tasting under one giant tent. Rain or shine…we will keep you dry! Lobster cost is $30 in advance, and $35 at the door. Limited supply at the door. Midwest Morel Fest
Learn, hunt and buy morel mushrooms during Ottawa’s Annual Midwest Morel Fest. This unique festival offers everything mushrooms for the morel enthusiast to the curious observer! All events take place at Jordon Block Park (Main & Rt 23/71N). One day, two hunts, enjoy a large variety of handcrafted vendors, home brewers tasting tent and competition, food and music. And don’t forget Morel University where you can learn to identify morels then take off for a guided hunt. We have set aside land just for you! The championship hunt boasts the largest cash purse in the nation. Both hunts have limited availability.
"Nothing's Sweeter than a Child"
LaSalle County CASA (court appointed special advocate) is sponsoring it's 8th annual "Nothing's Sweeter than a Child" chocolate sampling and auction event. We have 20+ vendors who allow unlimited sampling of their chocolate delights. Music is provided and a silent and live auction are part of the event. There is cookie decorating and face painting for the children. Proceeds enable our volunteers to continue their one-on-one work with abused and neglected children. Attendance is 600+, location is at Celebrations 150, 740 E. U.S. 6 in Utica from 12:30 to 3:30pm. A program listing all auction items is also provided.
Easter Egg Hunt
Inaugural Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Safe House Animal Rescue. Over 3000 to 5000 Easter Eggs. A Visit with the Easter Bunny. All eggs filled with Candy, toys, with a possibility of larger prizes. Raffle Baskets, Baked Goods. Hunt free for all, age divided. Lunch will also be provided for $5. Starts at Noon
18th Annual Cruise Night
Come to Ottawa and check out the antique and custom cars during the city’s 17th Annual Cruise Night! Over 100 different models of cars will line the streets! It’s every car buff’s dream! LaSalle Street will be closed down for this event. Hosted by The LaSalle County Cruisers and the City of Ottawa.

Easter in the Country
The 35th Annual Easter in the Country will be held at Sandwich schools south of Route 34 on Wells, Lions & Dayton Street. Stop by Sandwich to see beautiful crafts such as painted windows, lighted bottles, pop can jewelry, hair bows, porcelain flowers and handmade baskets. Shuttle service will be provided to each location, no strollers allowed. The $3.00 admission fee benefits the Sandwich School Music Association.

The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Bald Eagle Trolley Tours
Be mesmerized by the beautiful bald eagles at Starved Rock. Ride the trolley to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center for eagle viewing and an educational program. History Trolley Tour
Take a great adventure every June through December! Board a trolley outside of the Great Hall area of the Lodge. Enjoy a historic trolley ride with stops at the Starved Rock State Park and Illinois Waterway Visitor Center where you will see Starved Rock from across the river and watch as the river traffic lock through the locks. You will also travel through the village of Utica and hear about the Illinois and Michigan Canal. While aboard, the driver will narrate the history and legends of the area. Eagle Watching at Starved Rock State Park
You don’t have to travel north to see these majestic birds of prey. Thousands of eagles migrate south from Canada during the winter and Illinois is one of the homes of the greatest population of wintering bald eagles. The Starved Rock Lodge in Utica offers a “Bald Eagle Trolley Tour” in January and February on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Viewing birds from the Veranda at the Starved Rock Lodge is good as well. Dress warmly though. This great viewing spot is right outside the doors of the Great Room. If you’d like some exercise, take a hike on one of the trails at the Starved Rock State Park. One trail begins right at the Veranda. For a birds eye view, hike to the top of the Rock. Another popular event is "Eagle Watch Weekend" with activites both at the Starved Rock Lodge and the Illinois Waterway Visitors Center.
