Country Corner Giant Pumpkin Festival
Jack O’Lantern meets Jack and the Beanstalk! Like Jack’s plant, a pumpkin can grow, and grow, and GROW – until it becomes one of the stars of the annual Giant Pumpkin Festival! See pumpkins weighing over 500 pounds. Most are for sale, so–give yourself the ultimate challenge and wrestle a giant out in our 20-acre pumpkin patch–or just point at one that’s been pre-picked at the farmstand. We’ll help with the wrestling, weighing and toting. Fall fun park, hayrack rides, corn cannons, our famous “Cow Train” barrel train, “Mining for Gems” ,bounce house, and Kids’ Corn Maze. Free admission, ample parking, nominal charge for events. Fall Fun Park open: 10:30am to 6pm.

Have you ever seen pumpkins fly at the speed of sound? Watch the Q-9 pumpkin cannon – always shooting for a world record, or pick and shoot your own pumpkin. Distance and accuracy competitions are held twice daily.
Mississippi Earthtones Festival
Come celebrate life on the Mississippi River through art, music, and conservation! The event will kick-off with a river clean-up beginning at 9 a.m. The festival is part of a statewide celebration of our rivers and an opportunity to learn more about the environmental issues in our region and solutions. The festival will feature informational booths on ecology, native plants & animals, and recycling, as well as arts & crafts, food vendors, litter clean-ups, organized hikes & bike rides, and live music! Eagle Watching in Alton

Arcola Broom Corn Festival
Arcola celebrates its heritage as the “Broom Corn Capital of the World” with this renowned festival held in downtown. Visitors can see broom activities, arts/crafts, great food, free entertainment, National Broom Sweeping Contest on Main Street and gigantic parade featuring the famous Lawn Rangers.
Family oriented two-day celebration that features the famous burgoo, as well as craft market, games, carnival rides, concessions and contests. Entertainment includes Little Miss & Mr. Burgoo, local talent groups and well-known music acts. Parade at 10am Saturday.

Mennonite Relief Sale
This two day auction features locally handcrafted furniture, quilts, and other handmade items. There will also be a children's auction and train ride. Bake sales and food vendors help round out the event. Proceeds from the two day event go to help those in need in the community and around the world.
Arthur Amish Country Christmas Kickoff
The Christmas lighted parade steps off at 5:30pm and will showcase Santa & Mrs. Claus through downtown Arthur. Immediately following the parade, Santa will visit with children and parents in Knights Court downtown to start collecting those early Christmas requests. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served during his visit. Throughout the day, businesses in the downtown area as well as the countryside will feature early Christmas bargains and host Open Houses.

Taste of Batavia Block Party
Celebrate Labor Day weekend as Batavia MainStreet hosts a 'Taste of Batavia' sampler party complete with live music, activities and dancing! For kids, there will be plenty of activities and a play area-- River City Church will host a bounce house, face painting, balloons, and a raffle. Lawn games and bags Classic Car Show on River St.
BatFest is Batavia's annual Halloween themed family event attracting over 2,500 ghouls. Bluegill Music Festival
March 16, 2015 - Bluegill Music Festival will lunch its inaugural event on July 4, 2015 for a one-day festival packed with some of country music's hottest acts. The all-day festival will be complete with Southern Illinois' largest fireworks display, along the shores of the Rend Lake Dam, in Benton, IL. The lineup includes Eli Young Band, LoCash, Clayton Anderson and more exciting acts to be announced. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 20th and can be purchased at www.bluegillfest.com and at Black Diamond Harley Davidson. Drawing fans from around the country, including Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, the festival is at the intersection of some of the nation's most dedicated country music fans. Bluegill Music Festival will feature nationally recognized BBQ vendors from around the country. Interactive entertainment for fans will also include activations, like: bags, washers, bubble soccer, Illinois longest slip n' slide, helicopter rides from Black Diamond Harley Davidson, a mechanical bull, a kids area with a large inflatable slide and the "Bluegill Lagoon", featuring a 60 x 100' VIP beach, with cabanas, private wading pools & lounge area. Additionally, Southern Illinois' largest fireworks display will begin at 9:30pm, and is free for all guest.

The 25th Annual Berwyn Rt66 Car Show sponsored by Paisans Pizzeria & Bar will be held on Ogden Avenue in Berwyn. Berwyn has always been a great Route 66 town with a thriving, dynamic and fast-growing community at its hear. Eagle Watching with Ranger
Join refuge rangers from Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge for a morning of eagle watching. Visit multiple areas at the wildlife refuge that are known for eagles. A personal vehicle will be needed. Attendees are reminded to dress for the weather. Open to all ages. Space is limited, call 618-883-2524 to register in advance. This program will be on December 5th & 19th, January 2nd & 16th, February 6th & 20th, and March 5th & 19th at 9 am to 10 am each day.
