Browse for novelties in the Freight House and visit the Silvercreek Museum which offers 25 rooms of early Americana, a display of antique machinery, Henney Motor Company vehicles which were manufactured in Freeport, and the operating Cooper-Corliss engine, a giant 130 ton steam engine. Saturday In The Park
Join us on June 4, for "Saturday in the Park" at Dakota Park, Main Street, Dakota. 7 am to Dusk. Enjoy a special day at the park with a car show, parade, pancake breakfast, dinner, and fireworks at dusk. Spectators get in free and vehicle entry for the car show is just $10.00. Rasmus Memorial Fun Fly
Freeport RC Modelers sponsor this spring fun fly. Pilots from around the area will fly a variety of aircraft including gas, glow and electric-powered. It’s a picnic atmosphere, free and open to the public. A grill is available. Rain date is May 15

Making Their Mark: Illinois Women Artists, 1940-1960
This exhibition, curated by Channey Lyons with assistance from the Peoria Riverfront Museum, explores a period in Illinois art history through artworks that are often overlooked. These works, created by women artists during the 1940s and 1950s are highly personal, subjective, and occasionally visionary or politically charged in ways that both resonate with the familiar currents of Chicago modernism and offer new dimensions to that story. Making Their Mark features sixty paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by forty artists.

Fever River Railroad/Stephenson Society of Model Trainmen Open House
For model railroad aficionados and everyone else who ever enjoyed model trains, this is something to see. The Fever River Railroad is a 103 by 24 foot scale model of a hypothetical railroad. The railroad intersects with models of "real" railroads, each of which can be operated independently. Up to 20 trains can be operating at one time. Industries along the railroad right-of-way duplicate either actual facilities or are typically correct of the industries that would be found in the Upper Midwest. The scenery represents the geographical area as well. A collection of railroad memorabilia and pictures are on display.
