Wine on the Terrace
The Ellwood House in DeKalb provides an elegant setting for an evening of wines, appetizers and music. Inboden’s of DeKalb, a local specialty food market and wine merchant, is again partnering with the Ellwood House for this event and will serve an array of fine wines and unique appetizers on the Ellwood mansion terrace. As visitors linger on the terrace sipping a selection of wines, they will enjoy music performed by classical guitarist, Quentin Dover. Guests can also take a self-guided first floor tour of the Ellwood mansion, view the exhibits on display in the Visitor Center (where desserts and coffee will be available), or tour the gardens. A silent auction and raffle of elegant offerings and gift certificates will take place throughout the evening. Tickets for Wine on the Terrace are $50.00 and should be purchased in advance. Only 200 tickets will be available, so don’t miss this great opportunity to experience wonderful food and wine in the incomparable setting of the Ellwood House Museum and Park. Sycamore Pumpkin Run 10K
The Sycamore 10K Pumpkin Run is headed into its 37th year! Feet will hit the street Sunday, October 25th at 9:05am. The 10K is held during Sycamore Illinois’ world famous Pumpkin Festival. This race has become a staple in the Northern Illinois race schedule. In 2014, we had over 1,800 participants running. Awards are given to the top three finishers in 11 age groups!

2015 is the 54th Annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival downtown. What started out as an idea by Wally Thurow in 1956 to offer something creative for the students of Sycamore, has grown from a neighborhood display on his front yard into the towns biggest city wide event beginning on Wednesday with the Opening Ceremony and cake cutting. The festival begins with over 1000 entries in the Lions Decorated Pumpkin Display, 2 carnivals, 2 large indoor craft shows, many non-profit vendors, and culminating with an hour and a half long parade on Sunday.

Romp in the Park - Maple Park Fun Fest 5K
Come Romp in the Park for the Maple Park Fest 5K race or a 2 mile walk. There are several age groups for the 5K with awards. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants and all participants will receive a ribbon. There is an early registration discount, but registration will also be available the day of the race.
