Willie Nelson & Family with Kris Kristofferson at RiverEdge Park
Living legend and outlaw country king, Willie Nelson is “On the Road Again” with his friend Kris Kristofferson. After Nashville in the 60s and 70s the braided Texas icon borrowed elements from jazz, rock, honky-tonk and the blues creating the unique, gravelly sound that made him famous.
Warrenville Holly Days
Holly Days, sponsored by the Warrenville Park District is the City's annual holiday celebration that marks Santa's official entry into Warrenville. Guests can enjoy a warm bonfire, raffles, free horse and carriage rides, hot cider and cookies, and, of course, a visit with Santa. Local Park District and school dance troops, singers, and bands entertain attendees during the event. It is at this event that Warrenville officially turns on its holiday lights creating an array of colors for passersby along Route 56 to see. Holly Days, primarily for Warrenville residents, gives the community an opportunity to come together and kick off the holiday season.

Two Brothers Summer Festival
The Two Brothers Summer Festival is a growing, weekend long music, food and beer festival focused on charity and community. The idea stems from the ideologies of the Ebel brothers, owners of the Two Brothers Brewing Company. Two Brothers Summer Festival was created to raise money and awareness for a growing list of charities, as well as give back to the local and regional community. Two Brothers Brewing Company is proud to have granted several wishes via the Make-A-Wish Foundation and helped a number of other children’s charities in its 18 years. This year The Two Brothers Brewing Company will donate net proceeds from the festival to Make a Wish Illinois and local charities. Music lineup includes Cold War Kids, Lord Huron, The Lone Bellow and PHOX.
The Annual Buffalo Grove Art Festival
Currently rated as one of the top 100 art festivals in the country, the festival hosts more than 100 juried artists from around the globe. Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch the masters at work with art demos and booth chats taking place all weekend long! In addition to the work of the 100 juried artists, festival-goers will have the opportunity to view and purchase works from young artists, ages 18 and under, who participate in the Youth Art Division of the festival taking place on Sunday. In addition to the artwork, festival-goers will enjoy live performances from a variety of musical acts, great food and art activities for kids, including an art scavenger hunt and spin art at the festival and much more!
The 38th Annual Alpine Races
Presented by the Alpine Runners, this is a 1/2 Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, Youth Mile, and also offers kid's races. Something for all runners and the whole family. The races run through the streets and along the shores of beautiful Paulus Park in Lake Zurich. Gatorade, water, and time splits will be available along the course. Food and drinks will be available to participants at the finish line. No dogs, strollers, bikes, rollerblades or headphones are allowed in the races please.
Taste of Westmont
Visit Westmont in July for the award-winning Taste of Westmont summer festival. A four-day weekend full of fun for the whole family. Thursday is Kidzapalooza featuring carnival specials, Irving stage, battle of the bands, car show and more. More carnival specials all weekend, plus craft show, kids activities, face painting, beer tent, and of course, grab a “taste” at our local restaurant food booths. Sycamore's Steam Show and Threshing Bee
The History of the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club invites you to their annual Sycamore Steam Show & Threshing Bee. This family friendly event is a great way to step back in time and see many antique machines at work. Threshing using steam engines and gas tractors. Also, a sawmill in operation sawing logs into lumber using Steam Power and Baling Straw using Club's 1900 Sandwich stationary wire-tie baler are just a few of the engaging machine exhibitions that will be presented at the Bee. There will also be Barrel Train rides, rope making, mule team wagon rides and much more to entertain everyone.

STORYTelling: Hmong American Voices Exhibit
This collaborative exhibit explores what it means to be Hmong American. How has Hmong life changed since refugees first entered the U.S. in the 1970s? What does it mean to be Hmong American today? Through objects, audio recordings and personal stories of Hmong Americans, this exhibit immerses visitors in the material culture and social issues of Hmong American communities. The exhibition is now open and will run through December 2016. A special opening reception featuring refreshments and live music will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the museum, located in Cole Hall on the NIU campus. The event is free and open to the public. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free and all are welcome.

St. Charles Fine Art Show
Located along the banks of the Fox River, this juried art show features 100 fine artists, live music, demonstrations and artists’ awards.
Plano will be celebrating in super-style. This family-friendly festival commemorates the summer of 2011 when Superman’s enemies came to town and destroyed it during filming of the blockbuster movie, “Man of Steel.” Popular events include the Superman Zipline, the Villian’s Jail, live bands throughout the weekend, old-fashioned children’s games, rock climbing wall, inflatables for the kids and several contests. The Smallville Museum where many different movie and Superman artifacts are housed will be open during the festival. The Sandwich Fair (DeKalb County Fair) is the oldest continuing fair in the State of Illinois. It brings over 175,000 visitors to the Sandwich Fairgrounds every year with harness races, draft horse pulls, carnival rides, demo derby, grandstand shows and the Midwest’s largest display of agricultural and home arts exhibits. It’s a traditional fair with the awesome fun of a modern theme park. The Sandwich Fair is quaint, old-fashioned fun – a great place to stay connected. There’s something for everyone! Join the fun! Ride Like An Egyptian
Join us for a fun and enjoyable bike ride through DeKalb and Kane Counties and support the historic Egyptian Theatre on Satruday, August 20th. Since the ride starts and ends at the Egyptian Theatre, you will have the opportunity to explore this historic landmark. This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. All participants will be provided with route maps and all routes will be marked with signs. There will be great SAG support on all loops and a well-stocked central rest stop. Bike at your own speed, this is not a race. All ages are welcome, however, those under the age of 16 must ride with a participating parent or guardian. There will be an end-of-ride meal provided for registered riders. Meal will feature soup, sandwiches, and refreshments.
Ribs on the River Weekend
The smell of BBQ ribs will be wafting around Bicentennial Riverfront Park as the city hosts its Annual Ribs on the River backyard BBQ Contest. Come all day for the food and stay to hear the following bands; Friday Night – Red Woody and Saturday – County Line Brothers, Back Country Roads and Whiskey Romance! The Ribs on the River event is back due to popular demand! This event will couple the best food, fun and friendly competition all in one great day.
