10th Annual "Let's Dance" Big Band Weekend
The event provides a venue and 'live' dance bands ( 10 - 17 pieces) for fans and social ballroom dancers to enjoy. Catered food - healthy, delicious, recommended by dancers. Floor - 13,000 sq. ft. smooth hardwood, well maintained. Advance package deals are available. 'At door' registration will be accepted 30 minutes prior to each scheduled dance.
17th Annual Biking with Beanzie
Biking with Beanzie is a recreational ride presented by Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club of DeKalb and sponsored by Kishwaukee Community Hospital.The ride route consists of primarily flat rural roads with some rolling terrain with estimated ride options of 23, 43, 63, 80, or 101 miles. All roads are well-paved, lightly traveled and posted with signs containing ride information and bits of Beanzie humor. This year also includes 3-mile, 5-mile, & 8-mile community bicycle pathway route options.

DeKalb Corn Fest
Corn Fest is one of the last, free, summer, music festivals among Illinois music and summer festivals in Illinois. Well over 100,000 people from around Illinois and the Midwest attend the music festival over a three day weekend. This festival features a carnival complete with rides and games, food booths, free live music, kiddie korner with large inflatables, family entertainment and much more. Friday night is carnival wristband nights for the kids with unlimited rides from 6-10pm. Festival areas feature food and business vendor booths, and a beer garden
DeKalb County Barn Tour
The DeKalb County Barn Tour is a one-day driving tour of barn sites within DeKalb County hosted by the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association and the JF Glidden Homestead & Historical Center. Participants will receive a map Guide Book containing hand-drawn sketches of each barn and the barn’s history, style and use. Participants drive to each location in any order for a tour of the barn(s), including many interiors. Purchase your event ticket at any of the seven locations. Admission is $20 per vehicle (buses extra) (Museum members receive a 25% discount). Bus groups are welcome.

Egyptian Theatre Flashlight Tour
**NEW for 2015** Join Egyptian Theatre staff as they provide a tour of the historic Egyptian Theatre using just your flashlights. Guests will be treated to a behind the scenes backstage tour which will highlight the haunted history of the theatre. This is the tour that reveals all the secrets and lets you go places the public has never seen. Don’t forget to bring your camera! You never know what you might capture in your pictures. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students & seniors. Guests must bring a flashlight for the tour. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Ellwood Explorers - Lunch at the Little House
The popular 1891 Victorian playhouse on the grounds of the Ellwood House Museum will be open for play during the second annual ‘Lunch at the Little House’ event. Children of all ages are invited to bring lunch and enjoy an afternoon at the Ellwood House. Historic toys will be available to interact with an learn about and the 1891 Victorian playhouse will be open to visitors as well. This event is free, but advanced registration is requested.

Fox Valley Irish Festival
No need to fly across the pond to get in on all that Irish fun. With beer and whiskey tastings, vendors offering phenomenal Irish fare, crafts and games for the kids and, of course, the hottest Irish bands around, the 2nd Annual Fox Valley Irish Fest is the biggest Irish party the Chicago suburbs have ever seen. There’s a little Irish in all of us – come celebrate the food, drink, music and spirit of the Emerald Isle at the Park. There’s something for the whole family at Irish Fest. There’s a huge children’s play area filled with crafts and games, Irish beer will be flowing, and tons of cool vendors will be offering authentic Irish food, gifts and more. Then, when the sun starts to go down over the green hills of the Park, to see three of the hottest Irish bands: Brendan Loughrey, The Ploughboys and The Mahones.

Hairspray: The Broadway Musical
Tracy Turnblad is a plus-size teen with plus-size hair, and she has one big plus-size dream – to dance her way onto Baltimore’s smash hit TV show, “The Corny Collins Show.” Every day after school, she and best friend Penny bee-line home to watch the cool kids shake the rafters to the hottest tunes on Collins’ program. When a dance slot opens on the show, Tracy gets help from her friend Seaweed, who puts enough groove in her step to win that dream role – and life is never the same again. But Tracy doesn’t rest on her stardom, instead she uses her new celebrity to racially integrate the TV show and change the lives of Baltimore folks forever.
