An Irish Christmas
Start your holiday season at the Effingham Performance Center with a little Irish magic. From classic Christmas carols to Irish holiday traditions, An Irish Christmas brings holiday cheer through storytelling, music, song, and dance. Featuring the music of uilleann pipes, flutes, fiddles, button accordion and bodhor`ans, and performers from groups such as Riverdance, Magic of the Dance, Kerry Dance Troupe, the voice squad and more, An Irish Christmas is sure to get you in the spirit of the season with some Irish Cheer!! Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 7:30 p.m.
Effingham Farmer's Market
Effingham Farmer's Market provides our community with fresh, locally-grown food, art, live music and quality artisan goods, produced right here in downtown Effingham, on the Courthouse Museum lawn. Come on out and support our community and your health! The market will continue every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from April to October. Statehouse Christmas Open House
The oldest surviving capitol building in Illinois is putting on its best holiday duds and throwing the doors open to the public. Visitors to the Vandalia Statehouse State Historic Site will find the building illuminated by more than 250 candles and trimmed with decorations appropriate to the 1840s, when a young Abraham Lincoln served there. Decorations include fresh greenery and fruits.
