45th Annual Northern Illinois Art Show
The Kishwaukee Valley Art League is proud to bring its annual Northern Illinois Art Show to the public. Held each spring in Sycamore, Illinois on the Dekalb County Courthouse lawn. 48th Annual Fair Diddley® 2016
The 48th Annual Fair Diddley® takes place on on the historic Woodstock Square. The square opens to pedestrian-only traffic as over 300 crafters line the streets, exhibiting their hand-crafted items. Join nearly 10,000 shoppers at this must attended event. Fair Diddley® is an outdoor event and takes place rain or shine.
59th Annual Des Plaines River Canoe and Kayak Marathon
This is the second oldest continual canoe race in the United States. The race is 18½ miles on the beautiful and historic Des Plaines River. There are numerous classes to accommodate people of all ages and levels, with a new 5.25 mile Minithon, starts at the Potawatomie Woods in Wheeling, option possible for non-competitors seeking a shorter course that ends at the customary Finish Line. Note that while, as in the past, Marathon paddlers may still take out at the halfway point at Rivershire Park in Lincolnshire, you must now arrange your own car shuttle to or from this site! 7th Annual Bloody Mary Fest
Judged by a host of celebrity experts and real people, professional and amateur mixologists compete for the title of Best Bloody Mary in the Midwest. Catskill Puppet Theatre Presents The Lion's Whiskers at Ravinia
A delightful musical adaptation of a traditional Ethiopian folktale, this show features a charming cast of human characters as well as our favorite African animals! When lonely Minya marries a widowed man with a son, she goes to a Wise Man for advice. He tells her that in order to win the heart of the little boy she must first pluck three whiskers from a Wild Lion! In doing so she not only finds the courage to tame the lion, but also the secret to gaining the love of her new family. Choose from 2 shows one at 1pm and one at 4pm.

Water Music, a suite of short pieces for small orchestra by German-born English composer George Frideric Handel, known particularly for its highly spirited movements in dance form. Most of the pieces were originally intended for outdoor performance, and the work premiered on a barge on the River Thames, where it provided entertainment for a royal cruise hosted by King George.
