3V3 Live Soccer Tournament
Carbondale is proud to host the 3V3 Live Soccer Tournament at the SuperBlock MultiPlex Complex for the second year in a row, with divisions open to all ages! 3V3 Live Soccer (or, "small sided format") offers fast paced, skill building, fun soccer. Every player is involved and constantly touching the ball. 3V3 is open to male and female teams, U6-adult Parents or coaches may organize and coach 3V3 Teams Each team may have up to 6 players on their roster All teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games Every player will recieve an official 3V3 Live Tour t-shirt Medals will be awarded to players on the top 3 teams in each division The top four teams in each division are qualified to play in the 3V3 Live Regional Championship Tournament Teams can also qualify for 3V3 World Championship at Disney World
Carbondale Community Friday Night Fair
A free community event for everyone, featuring live music, food court, a variety of products and services for sale, activities for all ages, and more! Game Day USA Youth Baseball Tournament
Mark your calendars! This summer Carbondale will be hosting two Game Day USA Youth Baseball Tournaments! The Saluki Super Regional will take place May 29-31st, and the Saluki Southern Championships will be held June 19-21st. Championship Rings, Pool Play Plus Pyayoffs, 3 games guaranteed. Live on Main with the Woodbox Gang and Nikki Hill
WDBX 91.1 FM and the Carbondale Music Coalition are teaming up to bring you a brand new downtown showcase! Saturday, June 6th, we will be hosting the first of many live concerts right in the heart of our downtown. The concert will take place right on Monroe Street next to city hall and will be free to the public!
Murphysboro Apple Festival
The Murphysboro Apple Festival is the oldest and largest, alcohol-free festival in Southern Illinois. Over 45,000 people attend the festival each year. During the five days of the Apple Festival, there are numerous activities drawing large crowds such as evening stage shows, carnival/concessions, Queen Contest, Prince and Princess Contest, contests from apple pie eating to apple core throwing, firefighters' water fights, marching band competition, car shows, Appletime 5K Walk/Run and much more. In addition, the festival's Grand Parade is one of the largest parade in Southern Illinois. The parade features an average of about 160 total units, 25 of those marching bands, and a variety of groups and organizations.
Praise the Lard Murphysboro Barbecue Cook-off
They come from miles around and from out of state for the fish fry, for the barbeque, for dancing and fun at this annual event, which is held at 17th & Pine Streets. Thursday the Fish Fry buffet is at 5:30pm – 8pm, $16 at the door. DJ starts at 8pm. Fish Fry & Wing Contest awards at 9pm. On Friday, the Grand Champion Buffet is at 5:30pm – 8pm, $22 at the door, and Band & Street Dance 8pm-12 midnight. A new event for Friday evening is the People’s Choice BBQ & Sauce Contest judging from 5:30 to 8pm. Saturday the judging begins at 10am. KCBS Great American BBQ Tour demos throughout the day.
