46th Annual Threshing Show and Antique Show
The Stephenson County Antique Engine Club proudly presents this annual event, "The Freeport Show". It offers over 300 antique steam and horse-powered engines, equipment, and gas engines. This year's feature is Allis-Chalmers. There will be a huge parade daily at 1 pm, a large flea market, a large display building offering home antiques, crafts, demonstrations, and farm miniatures, Gasoline Alley featuring The Rawleigh gas engines, sawmill, and blacksmith shop. There will be threshing demonstrations with both steam and gas tractors, and working demonstrations throughout the show grounds. Also, ride the Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad antique steam train. Great food is offered. Don't miss the Farmer's Hitch Class, Horse Pull or the Midwest Championship Antique Tractor Pull.
Aquin Flea Market
The Aquin Flea Market has been the treasure hunters' favorite for many years. This large indoor flea market is filled with antiques, collectibles, crafts, and books. Open the first Sunday of the month September - May.
Art in the Park
Join the Freeport Park District and the Freeport Art Museum as they welcome back the 8th annual, award winning, Art in the Park. Burpee Museum Traveling Exhibit - Savage Ancient Seas: Dinosaurs of the Deep!
Take the plunge into the deep, dark, Savage Ancient Seas! It is the world of the late Cretaceous period-over 70 million years ago! Filled with huge carnivorous marine reptiles with double-hinged jaws and teeth in the middle of their palates, gigantic flesh-eating fish big enough to swallow an adult human being whole, flying reptiles with 3-foot skulls, and the biggest sea turtles to have ever lived! Exhibit opens to the public January 17, 2015, and is here until September 7, 2015.
Christmas Tea at the Stephenson County Historical Museum
Celebrate this holiday tradition at the historic 1857 Oscar Taylor home decorated in Christmas finery. Enjoy music and and homemade cookies with coffee, tea or punch as your tour the mansion. The Holiday Gift Shop will be open featuring a selection of historical books, toys and other unique gift items.
Coronado PAC - John Mellencamp "Plain Spoken Tour"
"The Voice of the Heartland" will play 80 shows including multiple dates in the artist's hometown of Bloomington, Indiana; Nashville, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, and more. The special guest is Carlene Carter. On September 23rd, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Mellencamp will release one of the most distinguished records of his career, Plain Spoken on Republic Records, which includes ten stunningly elegant and soul-searching Americana gems. Egg Artistry Show and Sale - Midway Village Museum
Everyone is invited to the 24th annual Egg Artistry Show to see the fantastic works of art created from eggshells, purchase egging supplies and to vote for their favorite artistic eggshell creation. You may purchase admission at the door the day of this event. In addition to exhibitors, there will be vendors with supplies for sale including miniatures, pictures for decoupage, ribbons, lighting, music boxes, stands, tools, and more to help the egg enthusiast create beautiful eggs. Food and snacks will be available for purchase.
FC3 - Forest City Comic Convention
FC3 at Clock Tower Resort features vendors and artists, local and from surrounding states, all with a pop culture theme, with comic books, movies, toys, card games, RPGs, art, and more. Special guests/celebrities appearing areTerry Pavlet and Angus Oblong with more to be announced. Events include Cosplay Contests, an Independent Film Festival, and a live all geek auction, just to name a few. Family fun for the day and fun for adults at night, as FC3 concludes the FC3 after party commences!
Fever River Railroad Fall Open House
For model railroad aficionados-and everyone else who ever enjoyed model trains-this is something to see. The Fever River Railroad is a 103 by 24 foot HO scale model of a hypothetical railroad. The railroad intersects with models of "real" railroads, each of which can be operated independently. Up to 20 trains can be operating at one time. Industries along the railroad right-of-way duplicate either actual facilities or are typically correct of the industries that would be found in the Upper Midwest. The scenery represents the geographical area as well. A collection of railroad memorabilia and pictures are on display.

Gardens United Garden Walk
Some of the finest gardens in the Freeport area are opened for touring. The gardeners generously present their creative efforts for the pleasure of the public. Walk through the gardens and enjoy the colorful scenery. Plus a silent auction and a large variety of garden art items will be offered at one garden. Gardeners will be on site to answer questions and to talk about plants and their gardens.

This 41st annual hometown festival offers a Car Show, 5KRun/Walk, Parade, Stage Entertainment,Contests, Lil Miss and Mister Pageant, Punt, Pass and Kick Contest, Kiddie Tractor Pull, Pork Chop Barbecue, Pancake Breakfast, Water Fights, Fireworks, Concession and more!
