This family friendly festival is set in the city park with plenty of carnival rides, craft vendors, flea market, foods, etc. There is also an IPRA sanctioned rodeo that takes place Friday. A demolition derby takes place on Saturday. You can also enjoy the arm wrestling. There will also be a large parade Saturday morning. Tour the historical cabins set in the park.
Zombies, ghosts, ghouls, monsters, clowns, and more await you on the General Dacey Trail in Forest Park. Come and get spooked while walking the mile loop of the trail. First hour will be less spooky so little kids can enjoy. Times will be 5-8 pm on October 21, 22, 28, 29. This is sponsored by the Shelbyville Chautauqua Preservation Committee.
Visitors of all ages have lots to do and see at this free family-friendly event. Kids can go through the hay maze, pick pumpkins or pet the new calves in the calf barn! There will be several artisan cheeses and other treats available for purchase.

The fair is here to bring together both urban and rural people in a setting that provides entertainment as well as education for all and to help show-case all that the surrounding counties have to offer. During the Annual Scarecrow Daze Festival, the entire city of Shelbyville is decorated with scarecrows. With a different theme every year, entrants decorate their homes and businesses to the theme. There is also a large parade on Saturday, kids' games, a beer tent, music, a quilt show, and plenty of food and crafts, in downtown Shelbyville.
Come to Shelbyville and take a drive through Forest Park as it is lit up for the Holiday season. These lights are put in place each year by volunteers and new lights and themed areas are also added. Candy Cane lane is to honor loved ones. The Historical Chautauqua Building becomes a huge carousel. Come enjoy the Victorian Village, Santa's Shop, the North Pole, Bethlehem, and others.
