11th Annual "Let's Dance" Big Band Weekend
The event provides a venue and 'live' dance bands ( 10 - 17 pieces) for fans and social ballroom dancers to enjoy. Catered food - healthy, delicious, recommended by dancers. Floor - 13,000 sq. ft. smooth hardwood, well maintained. Advance package deals are available. 'At door' registration will be accepted 30 minutes prior to each scheduled dance.
2016 Harvest of Quilts and Textile Art Show
The DeKalb County Quilter's Guild invites you to our biennial quilt show, October 1-2, 2016. Enjoy this year's expanding our offerings to other textile and fiber arts, such as weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, wearable art and more. The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.
2017 NCAA National Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms
The 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships will be held at Rich Harvest Farms and hosted for the first time by Northern Illinois University, with play taking place from May 19-24 (women) and May 26-31 (men). Sugar Grove will be only the third Illinois city to host the Division I Golf Championships. Cook County’s Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the men’s championship in 1943, while Conway Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago played host to the men’s as well in 1997.

Autumn Craft & Treasures Market
The 44th annual Autumn Craft & Treasures Market, sponsored by the Sycamore Music Boosters, is part of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival weekend October 29 & 30, 2016. This event will be held at the Sycamore High School Fieldhouse, Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, October 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are over 250 vendors featuring a wide variety of quality crafts, handmade wood products, specialty items such as wool products, candles, spices, candies, antiques, ceramics and much more.
Bike MS Tour De Farms
Thousand of cyclists to participate in Bike MS: Tour De Farms in DeKalb. Bike MS: Tour de Farms is one of the largest fundraisers of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter. Children under 12 years old are invited to participate in a special Bike MS course exclusively for junior riders. All children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older and submit a $15 registration fee. Also on Saturday, five Chicago-based bands will perform from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Residents of DeKalb and the surrounding communities are invited to attend. Registration for Bike MS is open to individual riders, teams, volunteers and virtual riders.
Biking with Beanzie
Biking with Beanzie is a recreational ride presented by Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club of DeKalb and sponsored by Kishwaukee Community Hospital.The ride route consists of primarily flat rural roads with some rolling terrain with estimated ride options of 23, 43, 63, 80, or 101 miles. All roads are well-paved, lightly traveled and posted with signs containing ride information and bits of Beanzie humor. This year also includes 3-mile, 5-mile, & 8-mile community bicycle pathway route options.

DeKalb Corn Fest
Corn Fest is one of the last, free, summer, music festivals in Illinois. Well over 100,000 people from around Illinois and the Midwest attend the music festival over a three day weekend. This festival features a carnival complete with rides and games, food booths, free live music, kiddie korner with large inflatables, family entertainment and much more. Festival areas feature food and business vendor booths, and a beer garden.
DeKalb County Barn Tour
The DeKalb County Barn Tour is a one-day driving tour of barn sites within DeKalb County hosted by the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association and the JF Glidden Homestead & Historical Center. Participants will receive a map Guide Book containing hand-drawn sketches of each barn and the barn’s history, style and use. Participants drive to each location in any order for a tour of the barn(s), including many interiors. Purchase your event ticket at any of the seven locations. Admission is $20 per vehicle (buses extra) (Museum members receive a 25% discount). Bus groups are welcome. DeKalb County Farm Stroll
The Illinois Extension office for Boon, DeKalb and Ogle Counties is hosting a DeKalb County Farm Stroll on Sunday, July 24th from 12 - 5 pm. Wondering where to find local food & farm products in DeKalb County? Satisfy your local food cravings and curiosities on the DeKalb County Farm Stroll! A free self-guided tour of more than a dozen diversified family farms. Each location will have different events going on, but the stroll will allow participants to meet local farmers, get farm tours and demonstrations, sampling of fresh local products, and more. There is no starting location for the stroll, guests are welcome to visit as many or as few as they would like and in whatever order they would like. The public is invited to the Ellwood House Museum for a new lecture series titled “Local Lore.” Local Lore is an adult lecture series which will cover a wide variety of topics relating to DeKalb history. Free Airplane Rides with Young Eagles
Kids ages 8 and 17 years who are interested in aviation can take a free Young Eagles flight and see what pilots do on the ground and in the air. Since 1992, more than 1.8 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight from EAA’s network of volunteer pilots. EAA Chapter 579 has flown over 16,000 Young Eagles - more than any other EAA Chapter worldwide. No reservations required. Independence Day 5K Run/Walk
Wear your red, white and blue and show your patriotic spirit at The Independence Day 5K Run! The run will be held on a USATF certified course with chip timing. Walkers are also allowed and welcomed! This is a family friendly event, however, strollers, bikes and dogs are not allowed for safety purposes. Race meeting point is the Hopkins Park Shelter - on site registration will be cash only, early registration is encouraged.

MS: Tour de Farms Bike Ride
Bike MS: Tour de Farms is a ride that will take you farther than you’ve ever gone before. What makes this ride so special?
