1st Annual Summer Pow-wow
Come join the American Indian Center and enjoy a day out in the country air. Learn about the Native American Indians and their culture. There will be dancers, drummers, music, elder story telling and archery training. We will also have plenty of food to eat. This will be fun for the whole family. Olde Tyme Christmas and Living History
Decorations and period music accompany reenactments of what 18th century life was like at Fort Massac. The park staff and local historical re-enactors will welcome guests to the visitors' center and museum, which will be festively decorated with items based on 17th and 18th century designs. Hot spiced tea will warm visitors as they sample cookies baked in the authentic period bake oven.

Take a Hike - And Lunch!
Join us for a guided hike from the Lodge to LaSalle and Tonti Canyons. Participants meet in the Hotel Lobby to pick up a lunch and a Starved Rock backpack. Hikers will stop for lunch once they reach LaSalle Canyon. After lunch, the hike continues to Eagles Cliff and Lovers Leap. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 2:00pm. This hike is classified as strenuous. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. Hike will be approximately 4 ½ miles round trip. Lunch includes your choice of turkey, ham or peanut butter and jelly; bag of chips; freshly-baked granola bar; piece of fruit; and a bottle of water. Advanced reservations are required. Hardin County Fluorspar Festival celebrates the influences brought to the area by the Fluorspar Mining Companies. Located on the banks of the Ohio River. 50th IPRA Championship Rodeo
The Rodeo celebrates it's 50 years with a Friday night concert featuring Bella Cain, Jessica Rae and Ricky Nelson. Saturday the Wauconda's annual rodeo once again shoots out of the gate at the Golden Oaks Equestrian Center with professional rodeo performances beginning at 7pm. Dazzling routines by the Midwest Renegade Equestrian Drill Team along with six exciting rodeo events including Saddle Bronc Riding, Bareback Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Cowgirl Barrel Racing, Steer Roping and Tie-Down Roping. Guests can also enjoy a live band before and after Saturday's rodeo show.
