Waterloo's Christmas on the Square
Please join us in historic downtown Waterloo for our 34th Annual Christmas on the Square Weekend! This tradition takes place every year on Thanksgiving weekend. Visit the participating merchants for a chance to win great prizes! Visit with Santa and enjoy a free carriage ride from Noon-4 p.m. each day! Be sure to grab a great viewing spot for the annual glow holiday lighted parade, taking place on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. followed with a post-parade chili supper. On Sunday, vote on your favorite decorated lamppost, located around the courthouse square! Enjoy a free concert, compliments of the Waterloo Municipal Band on Sunday at 1 p.m., and enjoy kettle corn on the courthouse square. So much fun!

Historic buildings at Kennekuk County Park's "Bunker Hill Historic Area" will be lit for the occasion and decorated for the holidays. Continuing throughout the holiday season, the lights will be displayed weekends from 5-8 p.m.
Winter Lights Aurora
The Merriest And Cheeriest Of Seasons Starts With Winter Lights! As the City of Aurora’s official kick-off to the holiday season, this family oriented event will be filled with merry making moments and a sleigh full of free fun for the entire family! The event starts with the Holiday Parade ushering in the jolly old elf himself, Santa along with Mrs. Claus. It’s followed by a grand fireworks display along the banks of the Fox River. The twinkling lit streets will be filled with a tree lighting, live music, costumed characters, ice sculpting, local art, food vendors, festive photo-ops, live reindeer a trackless train and more. The Come and make Winter Lights, a memory filled family tradition!
Home for the Holidays
Visit historic Elsah during the holiday season and take a tour of historic homes, the village museum, churches and bed and breakfasts. There is also an option to ride in a horse-drawn carriage or decorated wagon with a team of horses. Ticket price includes a horse-drawn carriage ride. Lunch is available and will be served in Farley's Hall for an additional charge. Advance tickets are $15 per person. Event day tickets are $18 per person. Ticket prices do not include food. On Saturday, tour Sandwich with the Sandwich Association of Merchants “Tour of Homes.” Stop by the Festival of Trees at Timber Creek Inn & Suites and experience the magic of a holiday wonderland filled with an assortment of delightfully and uniquely decorated trees. Holiday musical entertainment is scheduled at various times throughout this free festival. Be sure to visit the Holiday Lane Craft Show and Home Business Showcase located in the convention center for a perfect holiday shopping opportunity. Also on Saturday, Secret Santa Shopping fun will be at the Sandwich Opera House. The Sandwich Old Mill Museum will be open to the public. Begin an evening of delight with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Veterans Park and Railroad Streets. Enjoy a real carriage ride from Veterans Park. Take the trolley tour and participate in the decorating contest.
