Join in a celebration of American pioneer faith held in the historic church "Jenny Lind Chapel". The church as constructed in the early 1850's and named for the celebrated Swedish singer, Jenny Lind. Join a celebration of American pioneer faith at Jenny Lind Chapel. The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Starting at 4pm to 6pm.

Bishop Hill village park is the center for the best eclectic gathering of folk/ethnic musicians of the Midwest. Orion Fall Festival
Enjoy the perfect ending to the summer. Orion celebrates Labor Day weekend with a long standing tradition. Friday evening begins the event with a pie auction, carnival rides, and arts and crafts. The pie auction is legendary and encapsulates the best of small-town, Midwesterner living. The fun continues Saturday with a 5K run, a parade, and lots of food and fun. Events wrap up Sunday with a talent show.
Quad Cities Marathon
This marathon offers beautiful views of the Mississippi River, entertainment and more. 5 Races to choose from including: Marathon, Half Marathon, 5-Person Relay, 1 Mile Walk, 5K Run/Walk, and kids runs.
Old Settlers Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo
Begins at 9 am, Skamperoo starts at 10 am. Over 150 runners each year of all ages enjoy this tradition of family fun running through historic Bishop hill, during the annual 5K run/walk. Runners vie for the coveted hand carved wooden boot trophy, symbolic of the Swedish Stomp. Open to all ages 7 to 107.
Lattice, Landscape and Leaves ~ Bishop Hill Quilt Show
The annual quilt show is like a needle and thread as it joins together family members and friends to create something memorable. This event continues to grow and over 100 quilts and quilted pieces are entered in this judged show at the Colony School. Be sure to visit the Village Smithy and VagnHall Galleri to see additional quilts on display.
Country Corner - Grandparents Day Weekend/Customer Appreciation

Joy of Christmas Service
This beautiful Christmas service is one you won’t want to miss. It begins in Andover’s Augustana Lutheran Church and concludes by walking to candlelit Jenny Lind Chapel for communion. The service features special choral and instrumental music by Augustana College students and faculty. Refreshments follow the service at Augustana Church. Service begins at 7:30pm.
Old Settlers’ Day and Colony School Reunion
Celebrate the 169th anniversary of the Bishop Hill Colony and the 119th year of the Old Settler’s Association. Enjoy a traditional chicken dinner, the High Society Band Concert and program featuring Bishop Hill Colony descendants’ speakers. Sunday a reunion of students and teachers from the Bishop Hill Colony School takes place and memories are shared. Hours: 11:30 am to 3 pm.

Country Corner Giant Pumpkin Festival
Jack O’Lantern meets Jack and the Beanstalk! Like Jack’s plant, a pumpkin can grow, and grow, and grow – until it becomes one of the stars of the annual Giant Pumpkin Festival! See pumpkins weighing over 500 pounds. Most are for sale, so–give yourself the ultimate challenge and wrestle a giant out in our 20-acre pumpkin patch–or just point at one that’s been pre-picked at the farmstand. We’ll help with the wrestling, weighing and toting. Fall fun park, hayrack rides, corn cannons, our famous “Cow Train” barrel train, “Mining for Gems” ,bounce house, and Kids’ Corn Maze. Cambridge Christmas on the Square
70 plus crafters will be featured at the Cambridge Parent Club’s annual craft show. Visit beautifully decorated homes during the Tour of Homes, area churches will feature “specialty treats.” Stop at Cambridge Community Hall and enjoy a visit with Santa, Holiday Music, supper and view the Festival of Trees.
