Historic Standard Addition Neighborhood Walking Tour- Route 66
Join us on a walking tour during the Blue Carpet Corridor Festival. Outside Guided Walking Tours of the Historic Sears Mail Order Homes built in 1918-1919. Tours will depart every 30 minutes on the hour and last approximately 30 minutes. There may be uneven street surfaces and sidewalks for walking. Food and Drinks are available for purchase.
Route 66 Blue Carpet Corridor Festival
19 communities from Chatham to Collinsville celebrate Route 66. The first annual Illinois Route 66 Blue Carpet Corridor weekend festival showcases unique sections of Route 66 is characterized by its rich mining history and Mother Road charm. A variety of activities along the road festivals, car shows, live entertainment, children’s activities, historic tours and more. Souvenir passports will be available at the various cities and villages. Towns on the Blue Carpet Corridor include Chatham, Auburn, Thayer, Virden, Girard, Nilwood, Carlinville, Gillespie, Benld, Staunton, Hamel, Edwardsville, Litchfield, Mt.Olive, Williamson, Livingston, Glen Carbon, Troy and Collinsville.
Macoupin County Fair
Come out to visit the oldest County Fair in Illinois! The 2014 Fair is sure to be exciting with lots of entertainment and agricultural displays for the entire family. New to the 2014 fair will be a Meat Goat Show. There will be a variety of attractions and entertainment for the whole family, including a tractor pull, mud drag, demolition derby, exhibits, livestock shows and auctions and children’s activities.
Greene County Fair
This traditional county fair has been around since 1856 and continues to provide fun for the whole family! Don't miss the great food, entertainment, the annual Queen and Little Miss pageants, carnival rides, sand volleyball, mud drags, truck/tractor pulls, horse racing, and commercial vendors. Jersey County Fair
Food, merchandise, vendors and more. A week-long annual county fair offering rare glimpses of livestock, agriculture competitions mixed with nightly entertainment. Don't miss the NTPA tractor and truck pulls, a monster truck challenge, demolition derby and Queen competitions. General admission is $2 per person, children under 13 free. Separate pricing for grandstand events.
