23rd Annual Model Train Show and Sale
The model train show and sale has 44,000 sq. ft. of layouts and display, vendors selling new and used model train items and railroad memorabilia, and door prizes. Location: Jefferson High School.
Rockford Melt Fest 2014
Winter is slowly "melting" away and it is time to celebrate the start of Spring! This event is open to all and has something for everyone. Take advantage of complimentary ice skating at the Riverview Ice House, free rides on the Rockford Park District trolley, musical performances by Missing Links and Unity the Band, a variety of food and retail vendors for you to do business with, and the ability to tour the historic Prairie Street Brewhouse. Burpee Museum Exhibit - Megalodon: Largest Shark that Ever Lived
This traveling exhibit highlights the evolution, biology and misconceptions of Megalodon, an enormous prehistoric shark that once swam the world's oceans. The Megalodon shark is related to the modern great white and mako sharks and was a dominant marine predator for 15 million years before it vanished 2 million years ago.
Oregon Antique Show
One of Northern Illinois oldest and best antique shows. The show will be held at the Blackhawk Center Sports Arena, located on the Oregon public school campus. The facility offers ample parking, handicap accessibility and a huge area for 50 Midwest antique dealers to display their merchandise. Quality antiques will range from the early 1800's up through the retro era of the 1950's including all areas of collecting.
Boone County Fair

Kingston Fest & Kardboard Boat Regatta!
Kingston Fest is a craft and vendor fair that offers live music and games in the shady Kingston Township Park. Bring your swimsuit and try the dual slide Water Slide. Race your friends on two huge obstacle courses! Community games will be at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. There will be horseshoes, bags and softball tournaments. The Kardboard Boat Regatta is always great family fun, watch boats made out of cardboard race on the Kishwaukee River.
Autumn Pioneer Festival
Travel back to the 1800’s and learn about the lifestyles and crafts of the day. Watch a blacksmith working at his forge, talk to voyageurs, settlers and buckskinners. Explore a wigwam in the Native American area, visit two authentic 1800’s log cabins, a one room schoolhouse and 5 ethnic gardens. Enjoy the sights as you tour the grounds on a horse drawn wagon. Learn to throw a tomahawk, use a cross cut saw and play old time games. Listen to live music throughout the day. Sample apple butter and bean soup cooked over an open fire. Food vendor offerings include prairie chicken, pioneer fries, buffalo stew, pie and ice cream, doughnuts, popcorn, old fashioned root beer and lemonade. These are just a few of the many fun activities offered at the festival.
German Valley Days
This 40th annual hometown festival offers a car show, 5KRun/Walk, parade, stage entertainment, pig scramble, kiddie tractor pull, pork chop barbecue, pancake breakfast, water fights, inflatable rides, bingo, fireworks, contests, concession and more! Friday: 5 pm - 10 pm; Saturday: 6 am - 10 pm; Sunday: 11 am - 4 pm.
