Yorkville Fall Fest and Pumpkin Pull

The Fall Festival of Crafts in Sandwich, Illinois is the oldest and largest craft fair in the state! There will be hundreds of vendors! It will be attended by thousands! Bluegrass Music Festival
Come out for the Annual Bluegrass Music Festival where the jamming doesn't stop! Primitive camping available Friday night. Canteen open Saturday. Fox Valley Pro Rodeo
Fox Valley Pro Rodeo includes big hat world championship rodeo action with exciting events including bareback riding, cowgirl barrel racing, and the rodeo's most popular and dangerous event - bull riding! Watch professional riders earn points to win a bid to the Nationals seen on TV. Bring the little buckaroos at 5:00 pm each night for games with the cowboys. Hilarious, family-friendly clowns, kids' games, food and drink vendors, music and fun for the whole family. 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms
The 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships will be held at Rich Harvest Farms and hosted for the first time by Northern Illinois University, with play taking place from May 19-24 (women) and May 26-31 (men). Sugar Grove will be only the third Illinois city to host the Division I Golf Championships. Cook County’s Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the men’s championship in 1943, while Conway Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago played host to the men’s as well in 1997.

Independence Day 5K Run/Walk
Wear your red, white and blue and show your patriotic spirit at The Independence Day 5K Run! The run will be held on a USATF certified course with chip timing. Walkers are also allowed and welcomed! This is a family friendly event, however, strollers, bikes and dogs are not allowed for safety purposes. Race meeting point is the Hopkins Park Shelter - on site registration will be cash only, early registration is encouraged.

Yorkville's 4th of July Celebration
The Yorkville Independence Day Parade steps off on Game Farm Road and proceeds to Somonauk Street, King Street, West Main Street, Church Street and ends at the water tower. Town Square activities begin immediately after the parade and will include children's foot races, rides, water fights, food vendors and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band. Fireworks begin at dusk near the corner of Rt. 47 and Countryside Pkwy. The Yorkville Big Band is scheduled to perform at 8 pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home. All 4th of July activities are free and open to the public. Food and drink are available for purchase.
Autumn Craft & Treasures Market
The 44th annual Autumn Craft & Treasures Market, sponsored by the Sycamore Music Boosters, is part of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival weekend October 29 & 30, 2016. This event will be held at the Sycamore High School Fieldhouse, Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, October 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are over 250 vendors featuring a wide variety of quality crafts, handmade wood products, specialty items such as wool products, candles, spices, candies, antiques, ceramics and much more.
Ellwood House Lecture Series: Local Lore
The public is invited to the Ellwood House Museum for a new lecture series titled “Local Lore.” Local Lore is an adult lecture series which will cover a wide variety of topics relating to DeKalb history. Each month, a different guest speaker will present these fascinating programs. All lectures take place at the Ellwood House Museum Visitor Center. Ribs on the River Weekend
The smell of BBQ ribs will be wafting around Bicentennial Riverfront Park as the city hosts its Annual Ribs on the River backyard BBQ Contest. Come all day for the food and stay to hear the following bands; Friday Night – Red Woody and Saturday – County Line Brothers, Back Country Roads and Whiskey Romance! The Ribs on the River event is back due to popular demand! This event will couple the best food, fun and friendly competition all in one great day. Bringing our backyard BBQ rib enthusiasts and those just looking for some good old fun, grill-masters will have the change to get their grill on and test their ribs on the public and the panel of judges. Ribs on the River is not for professionals or businesses, but those guys and gals who endure hours of work to perfect their ribs. Northern Illinois University and Huskie Stadium will once again play host to the Drum Corps "Tour of Champions”. This show will feature 8 of the World's Top Drum & Bugle Corps.
Sandwich Independence Day Weekend Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day weekend at the historic Sandwich Fairgrounds. Festivities begin at 10 am Saturday, July 2 with the Sandwich Park District’s Independence Day Parade, BBQ follows at the Fire Station and water fight competitions are scheduled for the afternoon. The fun continues with the Freedom Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday morning, July 3 beginning at 8 am. Participants may register early or the day of the race. Lineup will take place at Knights Park. The weekend will end with a fabulous fireworks display at the Sandwich Fairgrounds on Sunday with gates opening at 6 pm. Fireworks will be set off at approximately 9:20 pm. A donation of $5.00 per car is suggested. For more information, contact the Sandwich Park District.

DeKalb County Farm Stroll
The Illinois Extension office for Boon, DeKalb and Ogle Counties is hosting a DeKalb County Farm Stroll on Sunday, July 24th from 12 - 5 pm. Wondering where to find local food & farm products in DeKalb County? Satisfy your local food cravings and curiosities on the DeKalb County Farm Stroll! A free self-guided tour of more than a dozen diversified family farms. Each location will have different events going on, but the stroll will allow participants to meet local farmers, get farm tours and demonstrations, sampling of fresh local products, and more. There is no starting location for the stroll, guests are welcome to visit as many or as few as they would like and in whatever order they would like.
