Architecture+Art: Inspiration Amplified
Architecture + Art: Inspiration Amplified is a collaboration between the National Trust for Historic Preservation and United States Artists to create a public program for the Chicago Architecture Biennial. The program is the presentation of works by two United States Artists Fellows that have been inspired by the Farnsworth House and its landscape. The two artists are Mary Ellen Childs, a musical composer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, a sculptor based in Evanston, Illinois. Installed on the north lawn, Manglano-Ovalle’s sculpture, entitled Seven Thousand Cords (after Beuys), 2014 – ongoing, incorporates wood from the Farnsworth House property. An original composition by Childs will be performed by a string quartet inside Farnsworth House at 3:00 pm on the following dates: Saturday, November 14th; Sunday, November 15th; and Saturday, December 12th. Tickets to these special performance are limited. Reservations strongly suggested.
Suzy's Pizza, Bar & Grill
Your place for live music. Casual atmosphere, separate bar area, pool tables, outdoor volleyball courts. "The pizza is divine - sweet tomato sauce, flaky thin crispy crust, lots of gooey cheese with some spices sprinkled on top. Extra cheese is not really necessary because they are plenty generous. It's simply delicious."
