Kankakee County Fair

Guardian Angel Bassett Bash & Waddle
Join in for two days of fun, friends and fundraising to help our favorite four-legged friends. This event, held at the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue Park in Dwight, will raise money for the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue to help Basset Hounds in need of a home. The 'Largest Basset gathering in the World' includes a picnic, 'bassetball' and waddle. A weekend filled with Bassett’s, games, contests, entertainment & the huge finale of the Bassett Waddle with hundreds of Bassett’s leading off the Harvest Day’s Parade.
Concerts On The Hill
Relax on the big grassy hill at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park & Theatre while enjoying a variety of free family entertainment every Thursday, June 4 through August 27. Enjoy tasty, affordable concessions in a scenic setting along the waterway. Great $2 hot dogs! Picnic baskets welcome. Bring blankets and chairs for hill seating. Free parking. Dwight Harvest Days
Downtown Dwight is the place to be for crafts, flea markets, carnival and kids games, downtown stage full of entertainment, car show, 5K run, parade and band competition are highlights of the weekend, attracting over 10,000 people each year! Sunday's parade is led by hundreds of basset hounds and their owners from around the world.
Chicago Bears RC Cola Training Camp
Whether you're a hardcore football nut, or you just want to give the family a Bears experience they'll never forget, Bears training camp in Bourbonnais is the place to be! Every summer the Chicago Bears descend on Olivet Nazarene University for training camp, where fans can attend free family events and meet the players. Family fun for all ages! Manteno goes all out for this annual fest that features live music, games, crafts, food vendors and a lighted parade. The whole town joins in with city wide garage sales, contests, a 5K run and fabulous fall decorations throughout.
Cruise Nights in Morris
Years ago there was a tradition in Morris called "Buzzing the Gut", a simple way of saying cruising Liberty Street. Morris is bringing that tradition back to downtown. Any Classic car owners are invited to participate. For a minimal registration fee of $10.00, car owners can display their cars on Liberty Street starting at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Entry closes at 8:00 p.m. No rain dates. The public is invited to walk around and enjoy these classic cars at no cost! Proceeds go to Grundy Community Hospice. Second Saturdays through October 10.
Joliet Slammers Baseball Opening Night
Join the Joliet Slammers for affordable, family fun all summer long! Parking is free or you can take the train to beautiful Silver Cross Field located in downtown Joliet, IL. Special promotions for this event include Opening Night festivities and two dollar tickets ($2 Tuesday)! The Joliet Slammers are a professional baseball team based in Joliet, IL that play in the independent Frontier League. Home games are played at Silver Cross Field in Joliet. They are the 2011 Frontier League champions.
Grundy County Corn Festival
67th annual Grundy County Corn Festival will be held September 23-27, 2015. The event celebrates the rich agricultural history in Grundy County and offers everything from a farm fair, craft shows, carnival, music and food, food, food. Entertainment of all kinds, food vendors, water fights and a parade on Sunday.
City of Morris Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn
The Neverly Brothers kick off the 2015 season! Join this popular event every other Thursday this summer for a concert on the Grundy County Courthouse Lawn. Every concert will feature a different performance from the area. Admission is free! Season runs from June 4 through August 13.

Race Fan Rally
The Race Fan Rally is a yearly NASCAR event on the second Thursday of September and a kickoff event to the NASCAR weekend at the Speedway. Event includes plenty of entertainment on the main stage and other locations, food, beer tents, NASCAR drivers, simulators, classic cars, prize and raffle drawings, everything NASCAR related. Event held from 4 to 10 pm on Chicago Street and side streets.
Family Potluck Campout / Kayak Tour
Bring the whole family to the gourmet potluck campout to kick back and relax! Camp out on the wooded, sandy beaches of the Illinois River. This event is perfect for the first time camper! A full hot breakfast will be served in the morning before setting out on a guided kayak tour for around 2 hours. This trip will explore area rivers and the wildlife along the way! 7/18 & 7/19; 8/1 & 8/2.
Columbus Day Family Potluck Campout / Kayak Tour
Camp out on the wooded, sandy beaches of the Illinois River. Includes a potluck dinner on the beach under the stars and there will be campfires on the beach to enjoy! This event is perfect for the first time camper! A full hot breakfast will be served in the morning before setting out on a guided kayak tour for approx. 2 hours. This trip will explore either the Mazon River or the Illinois River and the wildlife along the way!

18th Annual Prairie Day
The Annual Prairie Day is a celebration of the prairie environment held in conjunction with National Prairie Week at Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area. Presentations on the environment and nature play a very important part of the day's activities as well as highlighting on the special features of the park itself. Various presentations, educational talks, and projects for children are the special offerings of the day. All special amenities of the park are open including the Cragg Cabin, the Visitors Center, butterfly barn, nature trails with wagon rides and etc.
