The James Beard Awards are the highest honor for food and beverage professionals in America. 2015 is a historic year for the James Beard Awards. They’re celebrating the Awards’ 25th anniversary, and, for the first time ever, the JBF Awards gala will take place in the city of Chicago. This prestigious ceremony will be held at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Chicago has a rich history with the Foundation, boasting over 40 James Beard Award winners, including four Outstanding Chef winners. Since its inception in 1991, the Skokie Festival of Cultures has become one of the premier ethnic festivals in Illinois, attracting more than 450,000 visitors and dozens of cultures, all representing Skokie's tremendous diversity.
