Northwest Illinois Rock Club's 2014 Jewelry, Gem, Fossil and Mineral Show
Midwest dealers will showcase a variety of beautiful gemstones, minerals, fossils, jewelry, beads and gifts for holiday shopping. In addition, there will be lapidary demonstrations, a fun-filled children's fish pond and games, speakers and displays.

Silver Creek & Stephenson Railroad and Silvercreek Museum Fall Harvest Demonstrations
All aboard as a 36-ton 1912 Heisler steam locomotive pulls three cabooses for a four-mile ride through farmlands. Purchase your ticket at the Silver Creek Depot, a turn-of-the-century replica filled with railroad artifacts, and browse the Freight House Gift Shop and Silvercreek Museum. Weather permitting, there will be fall harvest demonstrations with horses and tractors. The museum will feature sauerkraut, brats, hot dogs, chili and dessert. Christmas Tea at the Stephenson County Historical Museum
Celebrate this holiday tradition at the historic 1857 Oscar Taylor home decorated in Christmas finery. Enjoy music and and homemade cookies with coffee, tea or punch as your tour the mansion. The Holiday Gift Shop will be open featuring a selection of historical books, toys and other unique gift items.

Fever River Railroad Fall Open House
For model railroad aficionados-and everyone else who ever enjoyed model trains-this is something to see. The Fever River Railroad is a 103 by 24 foot HO scale model of a hypothetical railroad. The railroad intersects with models of "real" railroads, each of which can be operated independently. Up to 20 trains can be operating at one time. Industries along the railroad right-of-way duplicate either actual facilities or are typically correct of the industries that would be found in the Upper Midwest. The scenery represents the geographical area as well. A collection of railroad memorabilia and pictures are on display.
Aquin Flea Market
The Aquin Flea Market has been the treasure hunters' favorite for many years. This large indoor flea market is filled with antiques, collectibles, crafts, and books. Open the first Sunday of the month September - May.
Ferguson Fine Arts Theatre Presents: "Grace and Glorie"
Ferguson Fine Arts Theatre and Highland Community College present "Grace and Glorie". Grace is a feisty 90 year old cancer patient, who checked herself out of the hospital and returned to her beloved homestead cottage to die alone. Her volunteer Hospice worker, Glorie, is a Harvard MBA recently transplanted to the rural backwater area in the Blue Ridge Mountains from New York. Glorie is tense, unhappy and guilt-ridden. As she attempts to care for and comfort the cantankerous Grace, the sophisticated Glorie gains new perspectives on values and life's highs and lows. Visit the Silver Creek Museum which offers 25 rooms of early Americana and featuring the 130 ton Cooper Corliss Steam Engine and its over 25' fly wheel. Ever wonder what your neighborhood looks like from the sky? Or maybe you're curious how airplanes work. If you're between the ages of 8 and 17 volunteer pilots would love to take you on a free Young Eagles flight. Parent/Guardian must fill out and sign a registration form before the flight.

Pecatonica River Trail Fall Flotilla
Enjoy the fall colors that only Northwest Illinois can deliver. Start the morning with a leisurely canoe or kayak paddle down the natural water trail of the Pecatonica River. Paddle from McConnell Bobtown Landing (7.9 miles or 2 1/2 hours) to McNeil's Damascus Landing. Lunch provided for donation.
