Lighting on John Deere Commons
Come and experience the sights and sounds of the holiday during the Lighting of John Deere Commons in downtown Moline. Meet Mr. & Mrs. Claus, take a carriage ride and watch the fireworks during this holiday celebration centered around the famous John Deere Pavilion.
Mt. Carroll Mayfest
The Mt. Carroll Mayfest will be held on the campus of Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies. There will be continuous headline music on the main stage, juried art show, classic car show, unique art vendors, antique appraisal fair, kids activities & more!
The Great River Tug Fest
This is the only tug-of-war across the mighty Mississippi River. On Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., barge traffic, pleasure boats and paddleboats yield the right of way to a 2,400 foot, 680 pound rope that stretches between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois. Eleven teams from each side are formed and the side with the most winning teams takes the Alabaster Eagle trophy for that year. Currently the score is tied 10 - 10. A family weekend event filled with carnival rides, live entertainment, a huge parade, scenic 5k run/walk, food, arts and craft vendors and one of the largest fireworks displays (friday night) in the two state area. 19th Century Christmas at Deere-Wiman House & Butterworth Center
Don't miss these two beautifully decorated Deere family mansions during the holiday season. The 19th Century Christmas features the interiors of the homes decorated for the holidays; along with living-history volunteers, Choir performances, Santa Claus, music, and make-and-take activities for the children. These homes once belonged to the John Deere family and are now operated by the William Butterworth Memorial Trust. Open noon to 5 p.m. Free admission.

Blossoms at Butterworth - Deere Family Mansions
Each June, visitors enjoy the splendor of the Butterworth Center's impressive gardens while participating in several exciting activities; including old-fashioned music, games of the 1800s, jugglers, a scavenger hunt, an antique auto show, tours and refreshments. Antique Engine & Tractor Association Working Farm Show
National Rumely Oil Pull Expo in 2015! Visit the 50-acre showground and experience the fall harvest early 1900’s style. Event features the historical value of collection and exhibition of gasoline and steam tractors, power driven farm machinery and other equipment through field demonstrations, displays of gas engines, garden tractors, farm tractors and equipment. Tractor pulls, craft demonstrations, speakers, children activities and music are featured daily. Food is available and parking is free. .
Colona Memorial Day Celebration
Fun begins Thursday on Hennepin Canal Parkway with carnival children’s activities, horseshoe contest, nightly live entertainment in the beer garden and don’t miss the 42nd annual parade starting at 2 p.m on Sunday.
Fort Obie Rendezvous and Living Hitory Encampment
Visit the old world featuring a tipi encampment, black powder shoots, pre-1840 demonstrations, bow-shoots, tomahawk and knife throwing, primitive fire-starting, and 1840 trade goods. Open: 10am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10am to 3pm on Sunday. Admission $2.00 per person.
John Deere Classic PGA Tour Event
This is the 42nd year for this official event on the PGA Tour. Monday and Tuesday are professional practice rounds with free admission all day. Wednesday is the Pro-am. Quad City Balloon Festival
Join in on the fun during the Quad Cities Balloon Festival in September. Featuring beautiful and colorful hot air balloons, the festivities take place at the Rock Island County Fair Grounds in East Moline, Illinois. Admission to attend the Quad Cities Balloon Festival is free, although a free will donation of non-perishable food items is appreciated. Schedule of Events includes an art fair, car show, balloon launch and balloon glow. All activities are weather dependent.
Geneseo Christmas Walk
Geneseo’s spirit sparkles downtown with Christmas magic in the air. Each storefront window has family, friends and even animals depicting various scenes. Enjoy chestnuts roasting. Geneseo’s fastest growing event gets even better. Join Gen-Air for a fly-in luncheon on Thursday, Cruise the Hennepin Canal by golf carts on Friday. Visit downtown on Saturday as the streets fill up with vintage cars from all eras, train engines, model trains, airplanes, food and festivities.
Geneseo Music Fest
A Geneseo tradition reinvented. City Park becomes filled on Friday with the annual queen contest and supper to follow. On Saturday family fun begins with music, children and family activities, food and beverage. Activities begin at 5 pm on Friday and 8 am on Saturday.

Geneseo Christmas Tour of Homes
Some of Geneseo’s most beautiful and unique homes will be featured on the tour, each with a touch of the Christmas season. The Tour of Homes is sponsored by the Geneseo Alliance of Ladies (GALS). The money goes to help women from our community continue their education or get training to re-enter the workforce.

Iron Horse Social Club Music Festival
Memorial Day Weekend head to downtown Savanna for the Iron Horse Social Club Music Festival featuring Blues, Country & Rock music by regional favorites The Funnies, Righteous Hillbillies, Classical Blast, Jimmy Nick, Doc Ellis, Tripp & Molly and others. American Picker Frank Fritz will be appearing at the Iron Horse Bike and Music Festival on Sat & Sun. Come see Frank, and browse the Antique Mall where you may see one of Frank's Finds you like. QCA Heritage Tractor Parade and Show
Celebrate the history, pride, and technology of Deere & Company during the QCA Heritage Tractor Parade and Show. This tractor parade and show features all brands/colors 1970 and older of John Deere Tractors. It will be held September 8 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the John Deere Pavilion, 1400 River Drive in Moline, IL. Admission to the parade and show are free.
