Zoo Year's Eve
Rock in the "Zoo Year 2015" with your friends at Brookfield Zoo! In the Holly Jolly Theater there will be live DJ music, games, party favors, prizes and an early countdown at 8pm. Also at the Hamill Family Play Zoo you can make your own noisemaker and enjoy an early kid-friendly countdown. This area is perfect for families with children ages 6 and under. This event is free with paid zoo admission.

Winter Lights Holiday Walk

Warrenville Holly Days
Holly Days, sponsored by the Warrenville Park District is the City's annual holiday celebration that marks Santa's official entry into Warrenville. Guests can enjoy a warm bonfire, raffles, free horse and carriage rides, hot cider and cookies, and, of course, a visit with Santa. Local Park District and school dance troops, singers, and bands entertain attendees during the event. It is at this event that Warrenville officially turns on its holiday lights creating an array of colors for passersby along Route 56 to see. Holly Days, primarily for Warrenville residents, gives the community an opportunity to come together and kick off the holiday season.

The Villa Park French Market offers a wide variety of items including fresh flowers, fresh produce, hand-made soaps, pottery and more. The French Market is located on Park Boulevard, immediately west of Ardmore, by the gazebo. The French Market is accessible by the Prairie Path. It provides a place to gather, socialize and purchase quality goods at reasonable prices.

Turkey Testicle Festival
It’s a great night as you don’t have to bring a dish to pass or talk to relatives. If you have never tried a turkey testicle, this is your chance! No need to worry about the weather the festival is held under one huge heated tent, with plenty of portable potties available. The bar is open but the number of people allowed inside at any one time is limited, as it can become pretty packed. There will also be hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts for sale to remember the night. “So grab a friend that's never been, enjoy a cold brew, great music, and hot nuts!" The Stadium at the Ballpark
The Stadium at the Ballpark at Rosemont is the 2,000-seat home of the Chicago Bandits, the 2011 NPF World Champion women's softball organization, East Leyden High School's girls softball team and the Rosemont School's boys and girls softball team. It is located on the west side of 1-294, and is the first facility of its kind in the nation built expressly for women's professional sports. The team plays 25 home games a year, from June through August.

The Game's Afoot
From the creator of Lend Me A Tenor comes this whodunit filled with twists, turns and murderous pandemonium. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his portrayal of the lengendary Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his lavish Connecticut castle for a holiday weekend of revelry. When one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in the isolated house quickly turn dangerous. It is up to Gillette who assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer bfore the next victim appears in this witty, suspenseful caper.

Sycamore Pumpkin Fest
2014 is the 53rd Annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival. Back in 1956, Wally Thurow, who is known as Sycamore’s "Mr. Pumpkin", began what was to become the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival when he displayed a few decorated pumpkins on his front lawn to turn Halloween into a time of fun and creativity. In 1962, through the efforts of Mr. Pumpkin and the Sycamore Lions Club, the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival became an official celebration in Sycamore. The Courthouse lawn is the center of activities, including thousands of decorated pumpkins on display, there are also art and craft shows, a house walk, a pie eating contest, a carnival, a fun fair, a race and other events. The festival is concluded by a giant parade on Sunday afternoon.

Reporting for Duty: The WWII Vehicle Experience
Join the First Division Museum for a one of a kind event. You will get the opportunity to experience the vehicles that soldiers used in World War II. The Museum's professional staff will teach you about the vehicles and let you get inside each vehicle to start your day. During the day, you will learn about and handle the weapons used by American and German forces during the war. We will also show you how the medics treated and transported casualties in the field. Everyone will be served a World War II style lunch. You will then finish your day by going on a convoy in the Museum's World War II vehicles. Participants will receive a personalized dog tag and an event t-shirt. The session is 5 hours long, and lunch will be served at 12 noon. Advanced registration is required. All participants must be 18 years or older. There is a significant amount of physical activity involved in this program.
Pumpkin Run 10K
The 10K is held during Sycamore Illinois’ world famous Pumpkin Festival.
