Nearly Sane Trail Half Marathon
The Nearly Sane Trail Half Marathon will be 13.1 miles through the trails of Half Day Forest Preserve (permit pending), onto the trails of the Des Plaines River trail and back to the festival area where you can enjoy your well-deserved beer and hot dog! The start/finish area will be located at Shelter C of Half Day Forest Preserve in Lake County and take place on the beautiful trails of Lake County, which are some of the best that Chicagoland has to offer!

Clinton's Terror on Washington Street Haunted House
Strange things happen when October comes to Clinton. The old VFW Hall is a place no one wants to travel by after sunset. Screams and moans have been heard..Slow moving creatures have been seen around the premises. Find out for yourself what lurks in the shadows when this peaceful central Illinois community becomes home to the creatures of the night. Event dates are Oct 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30-31: 7pm-11pm. "Lights On" dates are Oct. 17th and 24th, 5pm-6pm.
Egg Artistry Show and Sale - Midway Village Museum
Everyone is invited to the 24th annual Egg Artistry Show to see the fantastic works of art created from eggshells, purchase egging supplies and to vote for their favorite artistic eggshell creation. You may purchase admission at the door the day of this event. In addition to exhibitors, there will be vendors with supplies for sale including miniatures, pictures for decoupage, ribbons, lighting, music boxes, stands, tools, and more to help the egg enthusiast create beautiful eggs. Silver Creek & Stephenson Railroad Fathers Day Celebration
All aboard as a 36 ton 1912 Heisler steam locomotive pulls three cabooses, including an antique red caboose reported to be the oldest in the state, and three passenger flatcars for a four mile ride through farmlands and across a bridge 30' above Yellow Creek. Purchase your ticket at the Silver Creek Depot, a turn-of-the-century replica filled with railroad artifacts. Browse for novelties in the Freight House Gift Shop. Visit the Silvercreek Museum filled with early Americana and featuring the 130 ton Cooper Corliss Steam Engine and its over 25' fly wheel. Food will be available at the museum. 27th Annual Depot Stove Gang Model Railroad Show
Model railroad show and swap meet with over 25,000 square feet of operating model railroads and railroad memorabilia and numerous vendors with items for both sale and swap. The show is for all railroad enthusiasts. Lunch stand provided.
Mill Creek Mayhem
Toughest trail race in the Midwest. Extreme 12K trail run and 1 mile mini mayhem. The footing (What footing?) is hilly, muddy (several water crossings), and loose in places. The trail is not maintained (non-existent) in some places. Expect to be scratched and bruised. Located in the beautiful Mill Creek Park in Marshall Illinois.
Open Water Swim at Lincoln Trail State Park
A rectangular 1.2 and 2.4 mile loop course marked by buoys, lifeguards, rowboats, kayaks and other safety officials. Finish with a brief run of beach sand through finish chute.

Essence Of Freedom Run
The Essence Of Freedom Run is an annual event to raise funds that are desperately needed by the brave men and women both active duty and Veterans, who defend our country in the armed forces. Choose from a 5K or 10K race and run through the streets of downtown Deerfield. Active Duty, including Police and Fire Departments, run free. Register before February 15th and save $5.
Old Settlers Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo
Begins at 9 am, Skamperoo starts at 10 am. Over 150 runners each year of all ages enjoy this tradition of family fun running through historic Bishop hill, during the annual 5K run/walk. Runners vie for the coveted hand carved wooden boot trophy, symbolic of the Swedish Stomp. Open to all ages 7 to 107.

Pipe Dreams Organ Concert
Visitors will be treated to the remarkable sounds of unique pipe organs as they attend concerts daily at Streator churches. Locations to be determined. Bishop Hill Honor Flight Benefit
The spirit of giving each year is renewed by the Bishop Hill, The Filling Station Restaurant who organizes the annual fundraiser to send the Quad Cities area veterans to Washington, D.C. part of the Honor Flight Network. A barbeque rib dinner, that’s finger licking good right off the grill starts the festivities. Patriot Guard and Legion Riders ride into town and kick off the festivities with an invocation and presentation of colors. Patriotic music is provided throughout the event as well as unique military exhibits and a military retreat is held promptly at 1800 hours with a 21 gun salute and taps. A live auction of donated items, including, locally made artisan craft to sports memorabilia and more is the highlight of the day, besides the eating that is. Golf cart shuttle service from outlying parking areas will be provided to Village Park by Cambridge Cart Sales. Area veterans are provided with a free trip to visit their memorial with priority given to survivors of World War II, Korean War, and any veteran with a terminal illness. Honor Flight Quad Cities operates on donations from organizations and individuals. Representatives from the Honor Flight organization attend the fundraiser. All proceeds from the day’s events are donated to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, $60,000 and counting. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Geneseo Music Fest
A Geneseo tradition reinvented. City Park becomes filled on Friday with the annual queen contest and supper to follow. On Saturday family fun begins with music, children and family activities, food and beverage. Activities begin at 5 pm on Friday and 8 am on Saturday.

This theatrical haunted attraction will engulf all the senses with a magnitude of fears. The trail through the woods leading to Dr. E.
