MSI Summer Brick Party
To celebrate our temporary exhibition Brick by Brick, the Museum of Science and Industry is hosting a Summer Brick Party on Saturday, July 16. Get creative at interactive build stations courtesy of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago. Catch a free screening of “The LEGO Movie.” See impressive brick replicas, like the Chicago skyline, on display. Learn how to build your own podcast, hosted by WBEZ Chicago. Other activities include a performance by musical act Ben and the Tatar Tots, brick character face masks, face painting, and LEGO® Minifigure caricature portraits.
Huskie Chi-Town Showdown
Northern Illinois University and the University of Toledo will play in the "Huskie Chi-Town Showdown," the first football game in the 25-year history of U.S. Cellular Field, on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Annually one of the Mid-American Conference's premiere contests, the #MACtion game between MAC West Division rivals will air nationally on an ESPN Network at a time to be determined. Single game tickets for the Huskie Chi-Town Showdown will be priced at $45, $55 and $65 and will go on sale via Ticketmaster on August 1 along with single game tickets for NIU's five Huskie Stadium home games. NIU students will be admitted free with their OneCard and can purchase student guest tickets for $22.
Aurora Historical Society's Independence Day Celebration

The Tinley Park-Park District hosts three races each year. Whether you’re a seasoned cross country runner or just want to set a new fitness goal, our 5K and 8K races bring the community together around the central goal of achieving a new personal-best time. Even walkers enjoy participating with friends and family to get everyone out and moving! Race t-shirts are available for purchase while supplies last. River Bassin' Tournament
The River Bassin Trail is an affordable tournament trail for river bass fishing anglers of all types. Whether you’re a beginner or a hard core tournament angler there is a reason to come have some fun with us at some of the tour stops. It matters not if you fish out of a kayak or canoe. We just want people to see and respect the beauty of our nation’s rivers so that they’re taken care of and given the attention they deserve for future generations to also enjoy. Trail begins on the Fox River in Batavia and ends at Silver Springs State Park, Yorkville/Plano.
The Loop! Lansing on Pedals
Enjoy a fun, relaxing bike ride through Lansing, Illinois and surrounding communities. This is not a race, but a family-friendly fun event. This year's route is better than ever! What's really exciting about this year? We have 1 ride that starts at 7:00pm and you can choose to stay on or jump off. Historic LaSalle Street Auto Show
Historic LaSalle Street (Aurora) comes alive with classic cars. The block of LaSalle Street between Downer Place and Benton Street is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Cars were first sold and serviced in Aurora on LaSalle Street in 1907. LaSalle Street was fondly called "LaSalle Street Auto Row". Food vendors, games, prizes and cars! 9 am - 3 pm

Day at Dickson-Murst Farm
Visitors to Day at the Farm will see how the oats are removed from the chaff and straw with an antique threshing machine/separator. Kids can pet farm animals, play on a pedal tractor pull, and enjoy pony rides! Bossie the “milk her yourself’ cow will be there as well as the corn box. But there’s more! Antique cars and tractors, tractor-pulled hayrides, and food from the Country Kitchen. All this with live bluegrass music in the air. C’mon out! Mooseheart's Custom, Classic Car, Truck, Motorcycle Show
Join the Fox Valley Corvette Club of St. Charles and Mooseheart on Saturday, July 16 for their annual Mooseheart Car & Bike Show! See classic, antique, modified, custom vehicles, street rods, trucks, and motorcycles and know that you are helping to support the children and school of Mooseheart while having a good time. Participate in the raffles. Stay to see the awards. Located on the beautiful school grounds with plenty of free spectator parking. Donations appreciated. Food available for purchase. July 16, 8 am - 3 pm. Rain date July 17. All of the proceeds from the show go directly to help fund Mooseheart School. Mooseheart is a residential child care facility located on 1,000-acre campus and the Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school.
