Autumn Craft & Treasures Market
The 44th annual Autumn Craft & Treasures Market, sponsored by the Sycamore Music Boosters, is part of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival weekend October 29 & 30, 2016. This event will be held at the Sycamore High School Fieldhouse, Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, October 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bald Eagle Tours at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge
Crab Orchard is home to six nesting pairs of resident bald eagles and their offspring. A few nesting sites are visible from public roads throughout the Refuge and eagles are spotted daily. Guided tours visit eagle nests and areas of the Refuge where eagles may be spotted. The cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for youth under the age of 12. Reservations are required.
Bald Eagle Watching in the Cache River Wetlands
The Cache River Wetlands offers great opportunities for eagle watching, as well as spotting other birds. The Cache River Wetland Center provides resource and identification materials to help you spot eagles and other birds in the area and along the rivers. They will provide maps and directions to the viewing station for the nest just off Illinois Route 37 off Perks road and south of the visitor's center.
The Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival features 40 hot air balloons, races, glows, tethered balloon rides, main stage entertainment, craft fair, free children's activity area and games, cardboard boat races, car show, fireworks and much more.

Beach Boys & The Temptations: Surf & Soul Tour

Bike MS Tour De Farms
Thousand of cyclists to participate in Bike MS: Tour De Farms in DeKalb. Bike MS: Tour de Farms is one of the largest fundraisers of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter. Children under 12 years old are invited to participate in a special Bike MS course exclusively for junior riders. All children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older and submit a $15 registration fee. Also on Saturday, five Chicago-based bands will perform from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Residents of DeKalb and the surrounding communities are invited to attend. Registration for Bike MS is open to individual riders, teams, volunteers and virtual riders.
Biking with Beanzie
Biking with Beanzie is a recreational ride presented by Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club of DeKalb and sponsored by Kishwaukee Community Hospital.The ride route consists of primarily flat rural roads with some rolling terrain with estimated ride options of 23, 43, 63, 80, or 101 miles. All roads are well-paved, lightly traveled and posted with signs containing ride information and bits of Beanzie humor. This year also includes 3-mile, 5-mile, & 8-mile community bicycle pathway route options.

Bishop Hill Clay and Fiber Fest
Interact with skilled potters and a variety of fiber artists during this two day event. Artists are featured in an indoor/outdoor classroom at Bishop Hill's Prairie Arts Center. Potters of all levels will demonstrate wheel throwing and hand building techniques, the Native American art of horse hair pottery, pit and raku firing processes and more. Learn weaving, spinning, rug hooking and broom making. Make and take activities will be conducted both days. Local musicians will entertain you with their diverse musical style in the village park Saturday afternoon, and an old-fashioned pie and ice cream social will be held there, too. Saturday evening, a soup supper takes place in the Bishop Hill Colony School. For $10, attendees can pick out a hand-thrown bowl, fill it with homemade soup, and take the bowl home afterward.

Bishop Hill Honor Flight Benefit
A barbeque rib dinner, that’s finger licking good right off the grill starts the festivities. Patriot Guard and Legion Riders ride into town and kick off the festivities with an invocation and presentation of colors. Patriotic music is provided throughout the event as well as unique military exhibits and a military retreat is held promptly at 1800 hours with a 21 gun salute and taps. A live auction of donated items, including, locally made artisan craft to sports memorabilia and more is the highlight of the day, besides the eating that is. Area veterans are provided with a free trip to visit their memorial. All proceeds from the day’s events are donated to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, $60,000 and counting. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Bishop Hill Old Settlers’ Association Antique Car Show
Please join us in historic Bishop Hill and spend an automotive fun day in the Village. The park streets are lined with over 100 vintage cars and trucks each year. Bishop Hill’s Volunteer Firemen will be serving a grilled pork chop meal in the Park during the Car Show. Proceeds from this show go to the restoration and preservation of the Bishop Hill Colony School completed in 1861. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bloomin' on the Rock 2016

Bluegill Music Festival
March 16, 2015 - Bluegill Music Festival will lunch its inaugural event on July 4, 2015 for a one-day festival packed with some of country music's hottest acts. The all-day festival will be complete with Southern Illinois' largest fireworks display, along the shores of the Rend Lake Dam, in Benton, IL. The lineup includes Eli Young Band, LoCash, Clayton Anderson and more exciting acts to be announced. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 20th and can be purchased at www.bluegillfest.com and at Black Diamond Harley Davidson. Drawing fans from around the country, including Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, the festival is at the intersection of some of the nation's most dedicated country music fans. Bluegill Music Festival will feature nationally recognized BBQ vendors from around the country. Interactive entertainment for fans will also include activations, like: bags, washers, bubble soccer, Illinois longest slip n' slide, helicopter rides from Black Diamond Harley Davidson, a mechanical bull, a kids area with a large inflatable slide and the "Bluegill Lagoon", featuring a 60 x 100' VIP beach, with cabanas, private wading pools & lounge area. Brick by Brick at the Museum of Science and Industry
Explore the power of play at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago’s new temporary exhibition, Brick by Brick, opening March 10. Brick by Brick features a spectacular collection of more than a dozen LEGO®-built structures of engineering marvels, including a 60-foot-long Golden Gate Bridge, the International Space Station, St. Louis Gateway Arch, Hoover Dam, Roman Colosseum, the Burj Khalifa and more. These models are constructed by LEGO Certified Professional and Chicago native, Adam Reed Tucker. Guests will also experience hands-on building challenges that reinforce key principles of engineering, construction and architecture—and encourage creativity. Throughout the exhibit, guests learn how architects and engineers push the limits of design, materials and location to make the seemingly impossible, possible; witness how form follows function; and learn how building beautifully uplifts us all.
Brickworld was founded under the prinicples of getting together with existing friends and making new friends. Our motto (Share - Learn - Explore - Discover) reflects our intent to be not only a fun event, but also an educational event where LEGO artists and engineers learn from each other. Each year we hold an auction to raise money for charities. Items in the auction are also donated by sponsors and attendees.
Brown County Fair

Brüegala is an annual charity beer and wine festival run by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees. The festival has multiple food vendors, over 500 beers, 50+ wines, glasses of draft beer and wine slushies. They also will have entertainment with live music throughout the two-day event.
Bryan Ferry at Ravinia
Bryan Ferry is a British singer-songwriter and musician. Famed for his suave visual and vocal style, he came to public prominence in the 70s as the lead singer of the art rock group Roxy Music. After influencing many later bands with his crooning vocals and fashion sense, he has had a highly successful solo career upon leaving the group in 1984. Bryan with guest Laura Pergolizzi will be a great night of music.
Butterflies & Blooms Exhibit
Butterflies & Blooms is a butterfly exhibition where visitors can immerse themselves in a habitat filled with hundreds of live butterflies. This exhibition is filled with species native to South America, Asia, North America, and Africa, as well as those native to Illinois. The 2,800-square-foot white mesh enclosure is located on the lawn of the Learning Campus. Weather permitting.

A delightful musical adaptation of a traditional Ethiopian folktale, this show features a charming cast of human characters as well as our favorite African animals! When lonely Minya marries a widowed man with a son, she goes to a Wise Man for advice. He tells her that in order to win the heart of the little boy she must first pluck three whiskers from a Wild Lion! In doing so she not only finds the courage to tame the lion, but also the secret to gaining the love of her new family. Choose from 2 shows one at 1pm and one at 4pm.
Cave-In-Rock Frontier Day
Cave-In-Rock Frontier Festival is held on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River. The festival, which commemorates the extensive and colorful history connected to Cave-In-Rock and the surrounding community, is an entertaining and fun filled community event. First held in the 1960’s, the celebration includes a parade, carnival, various entertainment held in the Old Opry House, food and craft vendors. A Little Miss and Mister Frontier Days and Frontier Queen pageant is a highlight as well as various other activities. Come join the festivities for a weekend of fun and entertainment.

Celebrate the Great Lakes Naval Station's 104th Birthday
Come and celebrate the Naval Station's 104th Birthday in a big way! Enjoy two full days of "fire-cracking" festival fun at one of the biggest celebrations in the region! Each day the celebration will include three stages of exciting live music and family entertainment, a bingo tent with thousands of dollars worth of prizes, a craft fair with handmade items, the Gridiron. Experience with interactive football activities including a "Kicks for Cash" competition, the Kid's Zone with plenty to do for children of all ages, roving entertainment/costumed characters, thrilling carnival rides and games, a 5K Twilight Run, delicious festival food and beverage booths all available from local area vendors, and lots and lots more! Then enjoy the amazing firework displays that will take place this year on both July 3rd and 4th! Free admission. Thursday hours 3pm-11:30pm and Friday hours 12pm-10pm.
Kankakee history comes to life with the guided history walk through Mound Grove Cemetery. Actors will portray historical figures sharing their lives and times in Kankakee County. Tours are at 11 a.m and 2 p.m.
Chairs on Parade
Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.
Chautauqua Days Celebration
Days of old come together for this festival brought back after many years. This festival showcases the historical Chautauqua auditorium, the centerpiece of Forest Park. There will be live entertainment from Jeannie Kendall & Carl Acuff Jr. Show, the U.S. Army Soldiers of Swing, Eagle Wings Christian Concert, A Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show, A bean Bag Tournament with double elimination, local musicians, a kids area with inflatables, craft vendors, food, and more.
Chef Clash in the Arena
This is a fun experience where 100 local people will share a taste of their best dish from one of these categories: appetizer, soup/salad, bread, side dish, main dish or dessert with 600 or more attendees. Tickets are $75 each and include unlimited alcoholic beverages and sampling. There will also be Live & Silent Auctions during the event.

Chet Kingery Memorial Bluegrass Festival
The 4th Annual Chet Kingery Memorial Bluegrass Festivall will be held at The Great Pumpkin Patch this year. Headliners include Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper and Blue Mafia. The combination of talent from award winning nationally known groups to local entertainment is sure to please all attendees. All the bands will perform a mixture of traditional and bluegrass/gospel music.
Chicago 47th Annual Pride Parade
Celebrate Chicago's LGBT community at the annual Pride Parade, now in its 47th year! The parade will feature floats, decorated vehicles and marching groups representing organizations, groups, businesses, elected government officials and individuals. Be sure to arrive early to get a good spot!
Chicago Air and Water Show
This summertime favorite brings approximately two million people to the lakefront each year to witness the many feats that will be attempted and performed both in water and air. Civilian and military air crafts perform at soaring heights, while parachute teams and flying aerobatic acts entertain the audience below.

Chicago Legend Buddy Guy will headline the 32nd Annual Chicago Blues Festival, the largest free blues festival in the world. King, the late Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy and the late Koko Taylor.
Chicago Botanic Garden- Weekend Family Classes
Together, adults and children can explore cool things about how plants connect to science, art, history, and culture. Each program includes a variety of hands-on activities and projects, as well as opportunities to bring the Garden home. Programs run from November through April on Saturdays.

Chicago Sinfonietta, Water Music Suite at Ravinia

The dragons are coming to Blue Island for the inaugural Chicago Southland Dragon Boat Festival. Watch these long 20-seat boats with a dragon decoration on the outside mimic the old war canoes of ancient Asian past. Clayville Historic Site
The centerpiece of Clayville is the Broadwell Inn, the oldest brick building in Sangamon County, built in 1824 by the Broadwell family as a stage coach stop between Springfield and Beardstown. The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is surrounded by numerous other historic buildings from Central Illinois moved to Clayville in the 1960s to recreate an early frontier pioneer village. Come see a unique piece of Illinois history.
