Take a great adventure every June through December! Board a trolley outside of the Great Hall area of the Lodge. The annual Holiday Festival of Lights has become a Stateline family tradition, with over 50 holiday-themed lighted displays. Santa will be spending time each weekend night (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) by the donation box from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, so you can hand deliver your letters to him through Monday, December 19, 2016. When Santa is not present at this location you may still drop your letter in the North Pole Express mailbox, which will be located by the Festival of Lights donation box. Don't forget a return address so Santa can reply! Admission is free; donations are accepted.
The Garfield Park Conservatory, considered the largest indoor conservatory of its kind in the country, showcases vibrant and festive flora with its annual holiday flower show. This year's exhibit, titled Sky Forest, evokes a walk through delicate wintry woods by highlighting snow-topped branches and towering fir trees. Cantigny Park’s popular LEGO® Train Show is a holiday tradition for many families. The show transforms the entire Cantigny Visitors Center into a virtual wonderland for LEGO® fans. Le Jardin, the Visitor Center’s restaurant and banquet room, is home to the primary LEGO® diorama where creative new elements are added each year. Secondary displays and a free craft activity occupy the building’s main gallery area and meeting room.

History could be made this coming weekend when a field of 456 wrestlers from 134 schools across the state will compete in the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) state wrestling finals at the 37th annual Boys State Wrestling Tournament held at the Convocation Center on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

As many as 70,000 visitors view these massive works of snow art each year. Teams from around the state will compete in Rockford for the right to represent Illinois in the 2017 U.S. Nationals Snow Sculpting Competition, and high school teams from the Rockford area will compete in the high school division the same week. Sinnissippi Park is open to the public for sculpture viewing while weather permits. Viewing hours are daily from sunrise until 10:30pm. You may drive or walk through the park. Visitors are encouraged to take the time to walk through to maximize their experience and allow them to view the sculptures from all sides. Limited parking is available at Sinnissippi Park. Additional parking is available at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens just west of Sinnissippi Park across N. Second Street.

This drive-through is where neighborhood residents display a part of the original Christmas story includes lights, sound and all the biblical characters: wise men, camels, shepherds, sheep and manger scene. Peanuts characters with Charlie Brown follow on Lehnertz Circle. All lighted and all free! (Lehnertz is recognized as the oldest, totally free traditional Christmas display in Illinois.)
