Archery Tournaments & Festival
Tournaments for men and women in several categories, with targets designed to simulate a variety of hunting situations for archery enthusiasts. An archery festival with archery and outdoor manufacturers showing their newest and latest products, special seminars and presentations, youth programs and bow hunting activities for young and old. It also features a practice range and a chance to watch and meet some of the sport's top professionals. These events will provide bow hunters the opportunity to talk and share experience with fellow archers, learn about the newest equipment and improve shooting skills. Arrival at Camp DuBois
Come celebrate the arrival of Lewis and Clark at Camp River Dubois. This annual event commemorates the day William Clark and the men of the detachment arrived at the confluence of the Riviere a Dubois, Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Classic Film Series: Hollywood and World War II
Highland Community College and the Stephenson County Historical Society partner with the Lindo Theatre to present this film series featuring World War II movies. There will be a brief introduction before each movie and a discussion led by Ed Finch, Director of the Historical Society, and Alan Wenzel, Speech and Communications Instructor at the College, following the movie. The featured movies are: January 8: "Casablanca" 1943; February 5: "30 Seconds Over Tokyo" 1944; March 5: "Run Silent Run Deep" 1955; April 2: "Pride of the Marines" 1945. As a bonus feature for buying a series ticket, the classic 1943 musical, "Hollywood Canteen" will be shown on April 30. There will be a 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm showing for each movie. Des Plaines River Trail Marathon Races
Welcome to year five of the Des Plaines River Trail Half-Marathon, Marathon and 50 Mile Ultra Marathon along the beautiful and fast Des Plaines River Trail. This is a truly special running course. The DPR Trail is a wide, crushed gravel track, free of roots and rocks, and very flat. All of the major road crossings are managed by way of bridges or viaducts This is a great track through alternating lush forests and open wetlands. With cool temperatures expected, and given the flat terrain and ideal running surface, you'll find these to be extremely fast courses. Krannert Art Museum celebrates University of Illinois Moms Weekend by opening its doors to world-class floral designers who create one-of-a-kind arrangements inspired by works of art on display at KAM. The 22nd annual Petals & Paintings exhibition will be open to the public from 9 am – 5 pm on Saturday, April 5 and from 12 noon – 5 pm on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Special docent-led tours will be available free of charge from 10 am – 4 pm Saturday. The exhibition is free and open to the public. It is curated by Rick Orr, a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers.

The Stage Coach Players present "Arsenic and Old Lace", the story of the eccentric Brewster family of Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to the scheming old women who poison their victims with elderberry wine, the family includes Teddy, who suffers delusions that he is Theodore Roosevelt and that the Panama Canal runs through the cellar of his home. The locks he digs become convenient graves for the lonely men who fall victims to Aunt Martha and Aunt Abby's machinations. When their nephew Mortimer discovers a body under the window seat of his aunt's home, however, the elderly women fess up to their deeds matter-of-factually and the events become more absurd right up to the surprise ending. 18th Annual Art in the Park
The 18th Annual Art in the Park is a juried show of fine art, craft, and design. The show features over 100 artists from the Midwest displaying works of ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, and more. Challenge of the Bluffs

In 2014, the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust's internationally renowned annual housewalk will be an "All Wright" event, featuring interior architectural tours of eight private homes and three public buildings all designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Tour the private residences that Wright designed for his friends and neighbors in Oak Park, Illinois, which boasts the greatest concetration of Wright buildings in the world. Learn about the clients who recognized genius and took a chance on the young architect. Quincy Preserves Behind Closed Doors Home Tour
Spring beauty in Quincy is welcomed by the annual Quincy Preserves home tours. Held the first Sunday in May accompanied by the annual Dogwood Festival. Homes are adorned with plants and blooming trees in the yards and gardens. Tour 6 homes in Quincy from 1-5pm. Tickets are available at the door of each home for $15 per person or $12 in advance.
