The annual Holiday Festival of Lights has become a Stateline family tradition, with over 50 holiday-themed lighted displays. Santa will be spending time each weekend night (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) by the donation box from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, so you can hand deliver your letters to him through Monday, December 19, 2016. When Santa is not present at this location you may still drop your letter in the North Pole Express mailbox, which will be located by the Festival of Lights donation box. Don't forget a return address so Santa can reply! Admission is free; donations are accepted.

One of Millikin University's most popular events, Vespers (which means "evening prayers") provides the context for a seasonal concert that has become one of the University's most beloved traditions. Performed by 350 singers and instrumentalists, the concert features traditional and new music for choirs and brass. The 2016 theme is "One Can Hear the Falling Snow". Performances will be at 2p and 7:30p, both December 3rd and 4th.

DakhaBrakha is a quartet from Kiev, Ukraine. Reflecting fundamental elements of sound and soul, Ukrainian "ethno chaos" band DakhaBrakha creates a world of unexpected new music. DakhaBrakha was created in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art "DAKH" by the avant-garde theatre director - Vladyslav Troitskyi - and given the name that means "give/take" in the old Ukrainian language. Theatre work has left its mark on the band performances - their shows are always staged with a strong visual element.

The three-hour workshop – made possible with a grant from the Illinois Arts Council – is meant to help participants write poems that may be submitted for VOLTA, an innovative arts program sponsored by the Vachel Lindsay Association and the Springfield Youth Performance Group Foundation each spring. The tradition of the Western Illinois University School of Agriculture Ag Mech Club's Farm Expo continues this year with its 47th annual event Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 4-5. It was in 1970 the Ag Mech Club started what has become the largest student-run agriculture show in the U.S., the annual WIU Farm Expo—which many refer to as the "Ag Mech Show."
The oldest surviving capitol building in Illinois is putting on its best holiday duds and throwing the doors open to the public. Visitors to the Vandalia Statehouse State Historic Site will find the building illuminated by more than 250 candles and trimmed with decorations appropriate to the 1840s, when a young Abraham Lincoln served there. Decorations include fresh greenery and fruits.

The annual Holiday Lights Parade, when people full of anticipation line the streets of Harrisburg, is geared to excite and entertain. This night time parade has many floats, farm and other vehicles decorated with brilliant holiday lights.

Winter Games is one of 9 state sports competitions. It is the culminating competition for those participating in Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing. Winter Games is hosted at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, IL. Approximately 400 athletes will compete in this 3-day event and show off their winning form!

Back by popular request, it's The Three Celli, performing a mix of music for one, two or three celli by some of the area's finest musicians. Stephen Balderston, former Assistant Principal Cello of the Chicago Symphony, is the Professor of Cello at DePaul University. Prior to joining the CSO in 1993, he performed for ten years with the Saint Louis Symphony. Linc Smelser, a member of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, is on the faculty of Northern Illinois University as well as the Music Director of the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Brant Taylor, a former member of the Saint Louis Symphony, has been a member of the Chicago Symphony since the 1997-1998 season. He also teaches at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of the Performing Arts and performs with the band Pink Martini. All Chamber Series concerts begin at 2:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Art Gallery of Wilson Hall.
