City of Morris Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn

Bob Galloway Memorial Amish Country Bike Tour
Hosted by the Decatur Bicycle Club and the Arthur Association of Commerce, riders can choose from up to 100 miles of rides around scenic Illinois Amish Country. Well marked routes with little traffic and Amish country shops along the way and the Great Pumpkin Patch too. Rest stops with snacks, fruit, and drinks along the routes. All routes are sagged. Nearly 600 riders register, making this one of the biggest bicycle tours in Illinois. Starting point is the Arthur Community Building.

Or, gather on Main Street on August 1 for a hilariously good time at the Bed Races starting at 6:00 p.m. The Historical Play is also a must see event and will explain the unique history of Teutopolis and the heritage of its German ancestry. Christmas Market "Julmarknad"
The holiday festivities in Bishop Hill begin with Julmarknad, or Christmas Market. This event is based on Scandinavian customs dating back to the Middle Ages when farmers and artisans would gather in the village squares to sell their wares. Bishop Hill businesses will be offering unique gifts, handmade wares, antiques, quilts, collectibles, baked goods, delicious foods, and Swedish imports. Scandinavian foods such as herring, lutfisk, and rye bread are also in abundance. You can also participate in the Chocolate Walk, located at the Steeple Building, where you can choose from a variety of chocolate delicacies.

Grand Levee and Harvest Festival
The Grande Levee is a celebration of the grand receptions held during the 1800s to honor government dignitaries and important visitors. Friday evening the event kicks-off with a ham and bean dinner on the Vandalia Statehouse grounds along with musical entertainment. Saturday brings a day full of events at the Statehouse grounds for the Ground Levee. The Harvest Festival, which is held on Gallatin Street, will have vendors, sidewalk sales, bingo, kids' activities, inflatables, RC race car exhibition and more!

Challenge of the Bluffs
Beginning in front of the Riverbender.com Community Center, runners will make their way up a scenic and challenging 5-mile route through the Christian Hill and Fairmount neighborhoods and finish on Belle and 4th Street. Walking participants have the option of a 2-mile route to Riverview Park and back on the same course.
This special event will have ancient craft demonstrations, tours of excavations, artifact washing, screening of soils from dig, Indian games, spear throwing, archaeological methods, food & refreshments, and more. 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Free.

Annual Bluegrass Jam
It’s bluegrass time again at the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, with both fans and performers gathering on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Musicians from Illinois and Indiana will converge at the site for a day of jamming with informal groups playing along the creek throughout the day. The site’s volunteers will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs and more with proceeds benefit the historical and interpretive programs at the site. 64th Annual Jubilee Days Festival

32nd Annual Midwest Heritage Quilt Show
Beautiful quilts, some nearly 100 years old, will be on display at the Vermilion County Museum throughout the month of July. Awards will be given in 9 categories including bed quilts, purses and clothing, and wall hangings.
Illinois Game and Pet Breeders Fall Swap Meet
This swap meet involves the buying, selling and trading of game birds, animals, pets and supplies. Vendors will also be available with local honey, garden plants, flowers, and a small flea market. Events opens at 6 am. Gate Fee: $3.00 per person over the age of 10.

Civil War Weekend
The Shawnee Hills Art Council of Anna Arts Center and P.A.S.T. of Union County are co-sponsoring a Civil War Weekend in Anna, IL.
