Quincy Pro-Am Golf Tournament
Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy will host the first annual Quincy Pro-Am on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2016. Quincy native and professional golfer, Luke Guthrie will be the headliner hosting 18 professional golfers teaming up with amateurs for a fundraising event to benefit the United Way of Adams County and local junior golf. Tour De Cure
Join over 1,000 cyclists, in the fight to stop diabetes at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater. Catskill Puppet Theatre Presents The Lion's Whiskers at Ravinia
A delightful musical adaptation of a traditional Ethiopian folktale, this show features a charming cast of human characters as well as our favorite African animals! When lonely Minya marries a widowed man with a son, she goes to a Wise Man for advice. He tells her that in order to win the heart of the little boy she must first pluck three whiskers from a Wild Lion! In doing so she not only finds the courage to tame the lion, but also the secret to gaining the love of her new family. Choose from 2 shows one at 1pm and one at 4pm.
Open House at Haskell Playhouse
Come and take a tour of this historic playhouse. This playhouse was built by Dr. and Mrs. William Haskell for their five year old daughter Lucy. It is a rare architectural gem containing many of the flamboyant elements of the Queen Anne style: cartwheels, brackets, spires, diagonal sticking, fish scale shingles and stained glass windows. Its importance is magnified because so few of these accessory structures from children have survived. the playhouse contains a single room, front porch and side porch. The interior has been restored and the playhouse is open for special occasions. The playhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The open house will be held on June 11, July 9, August 13 and September 10, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Pere Marquette Rendezvous
Step back in time to the days when frontier fur trappers met with fur traders and buyers during this reenactment festival at Pere Marquette State Park. The Second Annual Pere Marquette State Park Rendezvous will be a traditional Pre-1840 event with buckskinned re-enactors portraying primitive traders and campers. There will be period demonstrations, black powder and longbow shoots, camp music and food common to days on the Illinois frontier. The public is invited to attend and admission is free.
Chairs on Parade
Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.

2016 Harvest of Quilts and Textile Art Show
The DeKalb County Quilter's Guild invites you to our biennial quilt show, October 1-2, 2016. Enjoy this year's expanding our offerings to other textile and fiber arts, such as weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, wearable art and more. The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.

The Singers Rachmaninoff's "Vespers" at Ravinia
The Singers will perform Rachmaninoff's "Vespers" at the Martin Theatre at Ravinia, under the Director Matthew Culloton, Pre-concert events include a screening of Man of Many Voices at 5:30pm, and a $75 dining package that includes reserved ticket and dinner and Q&A session with the filmmaker in PNC Private Dining. Matthew Polenzani at Ravinia
Matthew Polenzani is an American lyric tenor. He has appeared with the Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, Royal Opera House, Bayerische Staatsoper, Lyric Opera of Chicago and with many orchestras. This performance will feature songs by Liszt, Ravel, Satie, and Barber.
Rockin' with Robert Concert Series
Enjoy a variety of music at the Robert Wadlow statue. Stop by the statue for a summer of monthly concerts. All concerts are free and open to the public. Brüegala is an annual charity beer and wine festival run by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees. The festival has multiple food vendors, over 500 beers, 50+ wines, glasses of draft beer and wine slushies. They also will have entertainment with live music throughout the two-day event.

Marty Stuart is an American country music singer-songwriter, known for both his traditional style, and eclectic merging of rockabilly, honky tonk, and traditional country music. In the early 1990s, he had a successful string of country hits. Along with Billy Bob Thorton and the Boxmasters this should be a great night of music under the stars at Ravinia.
STORYTelling: Hmong American Voices Exhibit
This collaborative exhibit explores what it means to be Hmong American. How has Hmong life changed since refugees first entered the U.S. in the 1970s? What does it mean to be Hmong American today? Through objects, audio recordings and personal stories of Hmong Americans, this exhibit immerses visitors in the material culture and social issues of Hmong American communities. The exhibition is now open and will run through December 2016. A special opening reception featuring refreshments and live music will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the museum, located in Cole Hall on the NIU campus. The event is free and open to the public. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free and all are welcome.

The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma at Ravinia
Don't miss the spectacular performance by The Silk Road Ensemble along with Grammy winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The ensemble is not a fixed group of musicians, but rather a loose collective of as many as 59 musicians who regularly commission new works from across a broad musical spectrum.

Harman Family Bluegrass Concert
Enjoy the toe tapping, hand clapping sounds of the Harman Family Bluegrass Band in a live concert at the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower. The Harman's music style ranges from traditional to contemporary bluegrass, country, gospel and other various types of music. The concert will help kick off the first season of events at the Tower's newly constructed outdoor amphitheater. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased in advance by calling 618-291-9101. John Fogerty at Ravinia
Rock icon and Grammy Award winner John Fogerty makes his much-anticipated Ravinia debut as part of his Rollin’ On The River tour. While he was the lead singer and lead guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fogerty penned some of the most memorable songs in rock history music.
Paul Lewis with Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Paul Lewis performs Beethoven's Fourth Concerto and Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 along with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The conductor will be making his first appearance on Ravinia’s podium and with the CSO is Kirill Karabits, who has established himself as an intuitive leader of Prokofiev.
Hollywood Vampires at RiverEdge Park
Three years ago, Alice Cooper and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again. An environment for great artists to hang, laugh and play together. The Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry. All events at RiverEdge Park are General Admission.
