Port Clinton Art Festival

The iconic image of Abraham Lincoln appears in various forms among the collections of the Illinois State Museum. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the death of Abraham Lincoln and his funeral in Springfield, this exhibition will feature rarely seen objects that honor the memory of our 16th president. Highlights include a hair work necklace worn by the wife of Lincoln’s bodyguard on funeral train from Washington D.C. to Springfield, a life-size sculpture of the president by Lorado Taft, and a mysterious painting of the president bearing a cross on his forehead.

Ribs on the River & Whitewater Festival
The smell of BBQ ribs will be wafting around the Bicentennial Riverfront Park as the United City of Yorkville hosts its 4th annual Ribs on the River backyard BBQ contest! Ride Like An Egyptian
Join us for a fun and enjoyable bike ride through DeKalb and Kane Counties and support the historic Egyptian Theatre on Satruday, August 22nd. Since the ride starts and ends at the Egyptian Theatre, you will have the opportunity to explore this historic landmark. This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. All participants will be provided with route maps and all routes will be marked with signs. There will be great SAG support on all loops and a well-stocked central rest stop. Bike at your own speed, this is not a race. All ages are welcome, however, those under the age of 16 must ride with a participating parent or guardian. There will be an end-of-ride meal provided for registered riders. Meal will feature soup, sandwiches, and refreshments.

Rock Island County Fair
The Rock Island County Fair has been celebrated for over 140 years. The fair consists of events like livestock show, arts and craft shows, rides, and live entertainment. More than 40,000 people attend the fair each year.
Rock Island Grand Prix
The world's best drivers come to compete for one of go-karting's largest cash purses with payouts through ninth place. Last year attracted more than 30,000 spectators to the two days of racing. Festival week includes nightly outdoor concerts, driver's parade, fan autograph session and special Sunday post-race awards ceremony. There are also food and merchandise booths, kid's activities and other race-related activities. Free admission.

Rockin' in the Park
Rockin' in the Park is a summer-long concert series from May 24 - September 6 starting at 7:00pm. The festival features live bands, fireworks and food and beverage tents from the restaurants located within MB Park. The festival is located on the green lawn activity area in the center of the Park. There are picnic tables available, however we suggest bringing lawn chairs and blankets. Outside food and beverages, and coolers are prohibited. (All concerts/fireworks start at 7:00pm and end by 10:00pm)

The first annual Illinois Route 66 Blue Carpet Corridor weekend festival showcases unique sections of Route 66 is characterized by its rich mining history and Mother Road charm. Souvenir passports will be available at the various cities and villages.
