The "walking dead" will be led on a ravaging tour between 12th Street Rag, Commodore Berry VFW Post, Paparazzi, Friendly Tap and FitzGerald's Nightclub during the pub crawl. World Music Festival Chicago
The 16th Annual World Music Festival Chicago will take place Thursday, September 11 – Sunday, September 21, 2014 and is presented by the City of Chicago and produced by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. This city-wide, multi-venue, eleven-day festival has attracted over 600,000 concertgoers and has presented more than 600 artists and ensembles from over 80 countries since it began in 1999.
Woodstock Mozart Festival

Wonderland in Lights
Each year, the City of Effingham and the Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau turn Community Park into a winter wonderland! Wonderland in Lights, a drive-through light display, features a variety of lighted holiday scenes including reindeer flying, Santa coming down the chimney and a Nativity scene. We continue to add new lighting displays each year to grow the display. Santa visits the Wonderland in Lights every Saturday to bring special presents to the children. Come drive through the light display and stick around to talk to Santa and listen to your favorite Christmas carols! The Wonderland in Lights is free, but donations are welcome.

Holly Days, sponsored by the Warrenville Park District is the City's annual holiday celebration that marks Santa's official entry into Warrenville. Guests can enjoy a warm bonfire, raffles, free horse and carriage rides, hot cider and cookies, and, of course, a visit with Santa. Local Park District and school dance troops, singers, and bands entertain attendees during the event. It is at this event that Warrenville officially turns on its holiday lights creating an array of colors for passersby along Route 56 to see. Underground Railroad Shuttle Tours
Learn about local, Underground Railroad sites on a shuttle tour with J.E. Robinson Tours and the Alton Regional CVB on the last Saturday of each month (10 a.m. to noon). The two-hour guided shuttle tours will stop at some of the sites that were part of the Underground Railroad system including the Old Rock House, Rocky Fork Church and more. Alton’s riverfront location along the Mighty Mississippi played a vital role in helping slaves make connections to the freedom of the northern states. It’s a great night as you don’t have to bring a dish to pass or talk to relatives. If you have never tried a turkey testicle, this is your chance! No need to worry about the weather the festival is held under one huge heated tent, with plenty of portable potties available. The bar is open but the number of people allowed inside at any one time is limited, as it can become pretty packed. Touchstone Energy Balloon Fest
Come and enjoy watching as these balloons are filled and then take off for various areas. Friday night is a launch from Forest Park, Saturday morning, they will launch from various locations and try to hit their targets as they float through the air. There will be a Balloon glow and basket burn at the Dam Spillway area Saturday night with food and entertainment. You can meet the pilots on Friday evening. Sunday morning will be another opportunity to watch. These colorful balloons will be launched daily (weather permitting) and you can watch as they fly and do tasks around the Lake Shelbyville area.

The Visionaries: A Steampunk Expo
In Conjunction with the City of Lockport's summer art series, the Visionaries, a Steampunk Expo, will be held at The Gaylord Building. This event will feature makers and retailers of "steampunk" art and merchandise. The Visionaries Gala Weekend will be held the same weekend with weekend activities that will include food and entertainment throughout historic downtown Lockport.

Dig out those corsets and goggles, Ladies and Gentlemen! The city of Lockport's Gala is celebrating the amazing artwork from the Summer Art Series. Visit the Gala for a fabulous night of food and art. Steampunk costumes are Highly encouraged for this Black Tie Event. There will even be a contest for the best dressed! Dinner will be held throughout the Public Landing Restaurant that is adjacent to the Gaylord Building. Roam freely through the building to our dinner and dessert stations and visit the art and meet the artists. Visit the Lincoln Landing, along the Historic I&M Canal to the Norton Building and stop by the Illinois State Museum. Throughout the evening there will be Steampunk musicians and entertainment. It's something you will not want to miss! Be prepared to be dazzled by the comedic timing of Moonie the Magnificent, watch a musical Vaudeville act of Candy Town like you've never seen before, be enchanted by the musical duo of Frenchy and the Punk, and spend the evening with DJ and Mix Master Vourteque. The Stadium at the Ballpark
The Stadium at the Ballpark at Rosemont is the 2,000-seat home of the Chicago Bandits, the 2011 NPF World Champion women's softball organization, East Leyden High School's girls softball team and the Rosemont School's boys and girls softball team. It is located on the west side of 1-294, and is the first facility of its kind in the nation built expressly for women's professional sports. The team plays 25 home games a year, from June through August.

The Great River Tug Fest
This is the only tug-of-war across the mighty Mississippi River. On Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., barge traffic, pleasure boats and paddleboats yield the right of way to a 2,400 foot, 680 pound rope that stretches between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois. Eleven teams from each side are formed and the side with the most winning teams takes the Alabaster Eagle trophy for that year. Currently the score is tied 10 - 10. A family weekend event filled with carnival rides, live entertainment, a huge parade, scenic 5k run/walk, food, arts and craft vendors and one of the largest fireworks displays (friday night) in the two state area. The Game's Afoot
