Festival of the Vine
Geneva restaurants create an array of specialties under an outdoor tent at the “Flavor Fare” partnered with wine and live musical entertainment. The Fall Harvest Market offers food and floral demos, unique displays plus Kid’s Patch activities. An arts and crafts show, flower market, horse-drawn carriage rides and several exceptional wine tasting and dinner events also take place around the historic downtown.
Nouveau Wine Weekend
Downtown Galena comes alive with the release of Galena Cellars Vineyard and Winery's Nouveau Wine. A traditional French stew, paired with Nouveau wine is served at most local restaurants, followed by horse-drawn wagon deliveries down Main Street. Take your choice of various downtown locations for one of the afternoon wine and cheese parties or plan to celebrate with all of them.
DeKalb Corn Fest
Corn Fest is one of the last, free, summer, music festivals among Illinois music and summer festivals in Illinois. Well over 100,000 people from around Illinois and the Midwest attend the music festival over a three day weekend. This festival features a carnival complete with rides and games, food booths, free live music, kiddie korner with large inflatables, family entertainment and much more. Ravinia Festival 2014
Another exciting year of entertainment at the Ravinia Festival. With a variety of performances, there is something for everyone. Join Corvette enthusiasts at one of the largest car shows in the nation! Over 14,000 Corvettes are expected to be on display at this event hosted by Mid America Motorworks. Activities include a live Corvette auction, burn-out competitions, technical seminars, live musical entertainment, celebrity autographs and much more! Saturday's concert at the Funfest Amphitheater will feature 38 Special.
Kewanee Hog Days

Autumn Drive in McHenry County

Strange Folk Festival
Strange Folk is well-known for its eclectic showcase of talented indie crafters and designers from all over the country. This festival is a Riverfront Times "Best of St. Louis" and St. Louis Magazine "A-List" award winner for Best Festival in St. Louis. The festival features 150 indie vendors selling affordable handmade, up-cycled and vintage wares. In addition to the great crafts and wares there's live music, DIY activities for kids and adults, food and a 5K.
71st Annual National Sweetcorn Festival
Diligence, family, and a whole lot of corn! Each and every Labor Day weekend, for the past 70 years, the Hoopeston Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) hosts the National Sweetcorn Festival. Classic American festival events include a midway full of carnival rides, games, and stands of delicious fried goodness, smashing cars at the demo derby, and a grand parade featuring marching bands, pageant queens, and plenty of candy. Being the National Sweetcorn Capital of the World, Hoopeston has to have their own unique twists to the festival. An antique steam engine cooks more than 50 tons hot buttered sweetcorn and is served up to approximately 20,000 visitors over the course of the weekend free of charge! With a line that wraps around the park, it is clear that Hoopeston really does sweetcorn the right way, the best way.
Always held the Wednesday after Labor Day. This large DeKalb County Fair held at the fairgrounds on Illinois Route 34, just south of DeKalb, in Sandwich. There will be a carnival, lots of different food vendors, entertainment for all tastes, horse shows to enjoy, truck and tractor pulls, and so much more.
Clayville Fall Festival

Farm Heritage Festival
This two-day event celebrates farm life from the turn of the century to the present. Entertainment includes Border Collie sheep herding, wagon and barrel train rides, rope and scarecrow making, a tractor and antique vehicle parade, live music, quilting and heritage crafts, and a large model train display.

Festival of Trees
Annually, more than 14,000 visitors stream through the David S. Palmer Arena to see beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, participate in activities and entertainment, special events, and the sounds and tastes of the holidays at the Danville Festival of Trees. Proceeds from the Festival of Trees fund outreach programs that give back to the greater Danville community.
Ham City Jam
The Effingham skate park will be home to this year's Ham City Jam. Open skate will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and the competition starts at 1 p.m. $10 pays to enter all of the competitive events for the day including intermediate and advanced levels, best trick and more.The first twenty skaters to register will receive a free t-shirt. Music and food will be at this event as well as decks for sale.
Back for it’s second year, the C-U Oktoberfest features locally brewed beer, food by locally owned restaurants and authentic German festival music from Die Musikmeisters, The Polkaholics and the Bolzen Beer Band. Come dressed in your lederhosen or dirndl and enjoy a specially brewed “bier”, C-U Oktoberfest, just for the occasion!
71st Annual National Sweetcorn Festival
Held each year over Labor Day weekend, the National Sweetcorn Festival is best known for distributing over 50 tons of free, antique steam engine cooked, sweetcorn each year! Traditional carnival rides and grandstand events are additional highlights throughout the weekend, and the festival is home to the annual National Sweetheart pageant, a highly recognized pageant in which nine former contestant have gone on to become Miss America.
Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive
Fulton County offers unusual beauty of the colors throughout the Spoon River Valley, which inspired founders to hold the first Fall Festival and to organize the Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive. The first weekend of the Scenic Drive brought large crowds and a second consecutive weekend was held in October 1968. The Scenic Drive's Fall Festival has since been held each year during the first two full weekends of October. Fulton County's Spoon River Valley country offers much to the visitor during the Fall Festival and during other seasons of the year. While there are many attractions a visitor may find interesting, a few highlights may include the lone dam on the Spoon River at Bernadotte, a public boat dock at London Mills, the historical Ellisville Opera House, and the breathtaking scenery along the entire route of the Spoon River. Foods have become a tradition during the Fall Festival such as apple butter made before your eyes at London Mills, baked potatoes and hot cider at Farmington, chicken and noodles at Smithfield's Red Brick School, funnel cakes in Lewistown, baked goods in Duncan Mills and the famed ham in Ellisville. Visitors to the area are welcome to join us on the highways and byways of Fulton County which sport the colors of the four seasons and are open to visitors year around with routes running through London Mills, Farmington, Fairview, Ellisville, Smithfield, Cuba, Canton, Avon, Lewistown, Bernadotte, Duncan Mills, Waterford Township, Ipava and Astoria. These routes cover more than 100 miles in Fulton County.
Old Settler's Reunion
The Old Settler's Reunion will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include ribbons for Effingham County residents of over 30 years, awards, historic costumes and exhibits, live music, food and more. The Courthouse Museum will be open during this time.
Festival of Lights
Smile, laugh, be de-lighted at the East Peoria Festival of Lights! The festival features the fantastic Folepi's Winter Wonderland lighted drive-through display, open from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve, and many other events during December including a competitive run, gift show, theatrical productions and more. The Festival of Lights annual Parade of Lights covers three miles of Washington Street starting on one side of the city and ending just past downtown. The parade features floats shaped entirely from lights, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the chopper motorcycle float illuminated with LED lights, a 70-foot long float of the famous Clydesdale horse team pulling a delivery wagon, Frosty the Snowman, the starship Enterprise illuminated with 48,000 LED light bulbs, and the 95-foot-long smoke-spewing China dragon.
