Discover the beauty of this 1,800 acre zoological park which is home to over 50 different species of animals that are native to Illinois in a naturalistic habitat including an 90-acre restored prairie that is home to bison and elk. Experience the park’s spectacular landscape with 14 miles of walking trails, 20 miles of mountain bike trails, and five fishing lakes. Learn about conservation with educational programming for children and adults. WPP also features a narrow-gauge train ride, Adventure Trek open air safari bus, playgrounds including a 60’ slide set in a wooded hillside, 1800's schoolhouse and cabin, museum, food, lodging, tent camping and gift shop. Enhance your getaway with lodging as unique as the Park itself—stay in one of our onsite authentic train cabooses or rustic log cabin—hear the sounds of wolves and wildlife at night! Ten miles west of Peoria, via I-74, exit 82. Wildlife Prairie Park Accommodations: 13 unique lodging rooms ranging from Santa Fe Train Cabooses to grain bins and traditional rooms, all of which are non smoking. 20 primitive tent camping sites with a fire ring and picnic table at each. All lodging guests have access to the recreation room with showers, bathrooms, vending and games for kids. Wildlife Prairie Park Attractions: Fishing, hiking trails, mountain biking, animal trails, disc golf, Over 150 animals in their native environment, banquets, scout programs, educational learning such as homeschool classes and field trips, special events, Adventure Trek, train and more. Winter Activities: The Park is open year round which allows for cross country skiing, fat biking, and the Wildslide Sledding Hill in addition to activities listed above.
