A Collision of Culture & Commerce
Artist Dustin Shuler’s 8-car pileup is just one of the traffic-stopping art installations outside Cermak Plaza Mall in Berwyn. Commissioned by the mall to jazz up the place, this car kabob known as The Spindle plus 20 other visual- and sound-related sculptures transform this mall into a wacky intersection of culture and commerce. The Spindle achieved its 15 minutes of fame and put Berwyn on the map by appearing in the movie Wayne’s World. Party on, Spindle.
