Great Lakes Naval Museum
As an official Navy Museum, the Great Lakes Naval Museum's mission is to tell the story of the United States Navy, with particular emphasis on the Navy's only "boot camp" at the Naval Station Great Lakes.

After undergoing a $23 million renovation, The Genesee Theatre is now home to world-class performances including Broadway shows, musical acts, comedians and more. In addition to the shows, this venue is a historic hot-spot for weddings, corporate functions, holiday parties, and a variety of special events. There are also a number of completely renovated auxiliary rooms connected to the main auditorium that are perfect for receptions, birthdays, high school reunions, corporate dinners, cocktail parties, or any other festive gathering, meeting, or presentation. The Button Room Museum
We are a vintage and antique Button Museum. Our button displays rotate on a monthly basis based upon the current theme. Visitors will be given an opportunity to view beautiful buttons on display and learn more about two incredible women who saved and preserved everything (beautiful objects and historical artifacts). The museum will host a variety of small clubs, exhibitions, workshops, and events.
Mother Rudd House and Museum
This original 1844 building was once a stagecoach stop, tavern, post office, town hall, and candy store. Completely restored by the Village of Gurnee, this historical home is reported to have been part of the Underground Railroad. Slaves would be housed in the basement or the barn. View artifacts from the Civil War, see the "Crystal Ballroom" where traveling guests would be entertained or the room dedicated to the family of a local man that died on the Titanic.
Greenbelt Cultural Center
Nestled within the native landscape of Greenbelt Forest Preserve, the Center and its outdoor amphitheater can be rented for meetings, conferences, classes, weddings, showers, receptions or family reunions.

Jack Benny Center for the Arts
Jack Benny Center for the Arts -- Home to the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra & Concert Chorus and Bowen Park Theatre & Opera Companies. Bowen Park Theatre provides professional theatre and opera as well as children's theatre in the summer months, spring, and in December. The Jack Benny Center is the home of "The Old Time Radio Show" that holds performances quarterly.
Clockwise Theatre's goal is to offer alternative entertainment choices, including world premiers of plays with an emphasis on Midwestern playwrights, new or unusual small-scale musicals, and programming for the teenage-young adult audience. Clockwise hopes to offer a welcoming canvas on which to work, mobilizing the energy of the young, wisdom of the old, vision of the artist, and the rich cultures woven throughout Waukegan and the Midwest.

Exhibits feature an overview of the boot camp experience and the history of Naval Station Great Lakes. The museum is located at the Great Lakes Naval Station by the Main Gates. Admission and parking are free. Public transportation to the Great Lakes Naval Museum is available via Metra's Union Pacific North Line.
