Illinois Symphony Orchestra
Well-loved and highly respected, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra continues to provide residents of Central Illinois with beautiful music and stirring concerts. McLean County Arts Center
The McLean County Arts Center presents approximately twelve exhibitions yearly, including the annual Holiday Treasures exhibition and the annual Amateur Competition and Exhibition which for over 85 years has showcased the best amateur artists from the region. The Center also offers art classes, artist lectures, art workshops for children and adults and associated performing and literary arts presentations. ISU Center For The Performing Arts
The Center for the Performing Arts provides the Illinois State University campus and greater Central Illinois community with a wide variety of cultural activities. IWU McPherson Theatre
The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts houses extraordinary talent within its facilities at the McPherson Theatre. Four main stage plays are performed here annually, selected from a playbill including everything from Shakespeare to musicals. McPherson Hall, completed in 1963, is named for IWU's 10th President, Harry W. McPherson, and contains a 300-seat theatre, scene shop, classrooms and other facilities. The Merwin and Wakeley Galleries provide exhibition schedules that support Illinois Weseyln University's curriculum, the University community and the general public. The Castle Theatre
Immediately upon entering the main performing area, visitors are reminded of the days when no expense was spared in building a theater. Rich in architectural details such as gilded columns, ornate friezes and art deco-inspired chandeliers, the Castle is the perfect link between Bloomington’s past, present and future. The Castle features local and national emerging and established touring artists in a variety of music types, including Rock, Alternative Rock , Americana, Alternative Country, Blues, Jazz and Contemporary Alternative. Barn Quilt Heritage Trail
Visitors are invited to explore Bloomington-Normal and join in the celebration of McLean County's agricultural heritage, quilting, local history and the arts. The Barn Quilt Heritage Trail features over a dozen area barns or other farm buildings, each decorated with an 8' x 8' painted quilt square. A complete list of all participating locations is available on the Barn Quilt website. Step-on tour guides are available upon request for bus tour groups.
David Foster Wallace Tour
A self guided tour of places in Bloomington-Normal was developed with a map and description of the sites to explore the life of David Foster Wallace who was an American author of novels, short stories and essays, as well as a professor of English and creative writing. Wallace is widely known for his 1996 novel Infinite Jest, which was cited by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005. Infinite Jest was completed while Wallace was living in Bloomington and employed in the Illinois State University English Department. In 2013, Illinois State created an annual David Foster Wallace Conference to celebrate his life and review his works.
Three Sisters Park
Three sisters, Sadie, Lillian, and Goldie Cohen, expressed a wish that the 400-acres of farmland located adjacent to the city of Chillicothe, IL be dedicated as park land and a model farm for educational, recreational, and conservational purposes. While the Cohen sisters lived just off Moss Avenue in Peoria, they loved their family farm. Their vision was for the property to remain agriculturally related. The master plan envisions the creation of a living history farm, a central activity building, large festival areas, a welcome center, restaurant, agricultural equipment museum activity area, and outdoor natural amphitheater. The open fields and forested areas offer unique space for special events, concerts and festivals.

Ronald Reagan Museum and Peace Garden
Housed in the Donald B. Cerf Center at Eureka College, the museum collection numbers over 10,000 items from President Reagan's Eureka College student days, his movie and TV career, his governorship of California and two terms as president of the United States. The Reagan Peace Garden located on the historic campus includes a bust of the 40th president and a section of the Berlin Wall.

Uptown Normal has undergone a renaissance, with a recent overhaul of the area that included new streets and sidewalks, plus the addition of the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. Connie Link Amphitheatre
This beautiful and unique amphitheatre is easily accessible from the Constitution Trail. Some of the current programs include: High School Summer Theatre productions, Dress-Up Movie Nights and the outstanding concert series known as the Sounds of the Amphitheatre, which highlights local talent from the Bloomington/Normal area. Programming begins in May and runs through October, weather permitting.
Historic Normal Theater
Located in Uptown Normal, the Normal Theater originally opened in 1937 and was the first movie theater in Bloomington-Normal built specifically for sound films. An Art Deco showplace built with streamline design, the Normal Theater has been completely restored to its original condition. It now operates as a film center, showing classic films on the big screen as well as independent and world cinema titles. In addition, the theater is used for a wide variety of non-film events and is available for rentals where assembly seating is required.
Midwest Institute of Opera
The Midwest Institute of Opera is Bloomington-Normal's newest opera company. Performances are held at Illinois State University's Center for Performing Arts Concert Hall. The Institute brings in opera professionals from New York City and participants have come from all over the U.S., Canada, Egypt and Australia. Operas are performed in their original language (with English supertitles) and all productions are fully staged and costumed.
University Galleries of Illinois State University features both emerging and established artists, often those whose work has not been previously presented in a comprehensive manner. University Galleries is open year-round: daily throughout the academic year and Monday-Saturday during the summer. All exhibitions and events are free and open to the general public. Heartland Community College
The Heartland Community College campus is a community resource that may be scheduled as available for activities consistent with the mission and policies of the College and Board of trustees. the campus includes several conference rooms, classrooms, computer labs and an auditorium that can hold 430 people. All of these spaces can be reserved through the special events department.

Contemporary Art Center of Peoria
Peoria's cultural hub featuring art exhibitions, artist studios, art instruction, comedy improv, poetry nights, yoga and tai chi classes, and jazz and blues performances. The Contemporary Art Center exhibits the work of living artists at the forefront of their fields. About 20 resident artists are constantly creating art on-site, and prolific artist and co-founder Preston Jackson continues to maintain his sculpture and painting studio. The Contemporary Arts Center is also a great choice for your next event from club meetings to wedding receptions. The beautiful facility offers a meeting space of nearly 3,000 square feet, tables, chairs, a full kitchen, a stage with lighting and sound system, restroom facilities, plenty of parking space and lots more. The wheelchair accessible facility is located on Peoria’s RiverFront on the 2nd floor of the building in an old warehouse with original exposed red brick and wood floors. Peoria Players Theatre
Peoria Players Theatre is the nation’s fourth longest consecutively-running community theatre, and the longest in the state of Illinois. They typically perform six shows a year (four musicals, one comedy, and one drama), a special musical in June, Summer Youth Theatre in August, and a holiday production in December. Jukebox Comedy Club is one of the longest-running locally-owned comedy clubs in the country, in operation since November of 1990! Jukebox Comedy Club brings nationally-recognized comedians to an intimate (230 seat) room with great sound and lighting.
