A beautiful 1931 art deco 375 seat theatre. Shows are open to all ages and start at 7pm except on special events. The theatre brings the opportunity of a variety of entertainment arts; from concerts, live music & professional dance troupes to dinner theatre, local talent shows, private events such as weddings, and special holiday productions. This building was designed by the famous Louis Skidmore of "Skidmore, Owens and Merrill." The Watseka Theatre is believed to be the only theatre he ever designed. Sandwich City Hall and Opera House
On August 20, 1878, 25 years after Sandwich first became a town, a contract was signed for construction of the Sandwich City Hall and Opera House. An allotment of $10,000 was given for the project, with the stipulation that it must be completed by the end of the year. The building was finished on time, but there was a cost overrun of $2,000 After much time, money and energy by volunteers to restore and renovate the City Hall and Opera House, a grand re-opening was held on April 12, 1986. Once again the building functions as a community oriented facility, bringing community theatre, lectures, recitals, style shows, weddings and a wide variety of outstanding performers, ranging from country to classical, to its stage.

This one hour musical play tells the story of life in the early 1840s, as immigrants came up the Mississippi River to Nauvoo on the Maid of Iowa, a beautiful little paddle-wheeler. You’ll laugh at the antics of young Eli, thrill at the dancing and music, and feel the depth of devotion of these early settlers in Nauvoo as they face the martyrdom of their leader, and the violent and dangerous exodus from their homes in the middle of winter. Tickets are free but required for admission.

White Pines Inn Cabins
Located in Northwestern Illinois, near Oregon and Rockford, White Pines Inn resembles a pioneer village with 25 authentic one-room log cabins with gas fireplaces.
