Belk Park at 234-acres is the largest park in Wood River.Located on Rock Hill Road at the eastern edge of the city. In addition to the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, the present facilities include a lake with fishing, picnic areas, a ball field, children’s playground equipment, shelters (which can be rented by visiting City Hall), woodland and open space. Belk Park has a clubhouse for rent with a nice-sized multipurpose room and seating for 168.

The Gateway Grizzlies are a professional baseball team based in Sauget, IL. The Grizzlies are a member of the West Division of the Frontier League – which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. The Grizzlies played their home games during their inaugural 2001 season at Sauget Field. In 2002, GCS Ballpark, (formerly GMC Stadium) opened and has remained the club's home since. This 5,000-seat stadium, home to the Gateway Grizzlies minor league baseball team, has reserved box seats, lawn seats and a hot tub.

This 18-hole golf course opened in 1962. Triple Lakes has outstanding AB™ Quickstand Bermuda fairways, bent grass greens, and a combination of tall fescue, bluegrass, and rye grass roughs. Our tee boxes are a combination of bermuda and zoysia grass. The course has normal play hazards which include sand bunkers and water. We feature a putting green where you are welcome to practice your putting. The course is surrounded by wildlife and groves of trees with a country atmosphere.

The McKendree University campus houses two gyms: the Melvin Price Convocation Center and the attached IM gym, which can be configured to produce a total of four basketball or volleyball courts. Leemon Field, an artificial turf surface with the look and feel of natural grass, is home to several programs, including the nationally ranked football team, men's/women's soccer, and track & field.

This great building, operated by the city of Highland, offers a cardio/weight room, indoor walking track, indoor aquatic center and full-size gymnasium. The gym can accommodate two basketball or volleyball courts.
Arlington Greens Golf Course consists of an 18 hole, par 72 facility with a length of approximately 7,200 yards. The terrain is gently undulating to near level. Each hole has yardages for gold, blue, and white tees that point directly down the fairway with little misdirection. Fairways are irrigated with a double row irrigation system which has recently been upgraded. Fairways consist almost entirely of Bermuda grass.
